I would put mine at about 190 carry with the rollout depending on the surface it lands upon. I don't really pull my 5 that often though, as its a weird club for me. My 6 flies 185 but my 4 is 215, so either my 5 has a weird fit, or I just swing it different. I am in the Rockies though, so probably only 180-185ish at sea level.

Daaaamn!, that's far.

The longer irons scare me a bit so I tend to power down on them. I get my 5 out around 175 on average.

Sincerely, Jim

On a good ball strike, 170-175.    With roll, I've made the green from 200 out with hardpan fairways this summer...

This is it for me as well. I've always regarded my 5i as my "175" club, and seem to be pretty consistent with it. It's also my favorite club in my bag, because it's my most consistent iron.

For the most part around 190-200. I am not consistent enough to narrow it down more.

I don't hit one - I use a hybrid and go 6-PW.

I have a 5i - but if it sees dirt on a course, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

185-195 Carry depending on the type of shot.  I do love to hit a low punch as a lay up on par 5s with a 5 iron.  Its really fun to try and work the ball.

I'm with you Jimbo. I played a round this arvo and totally smashed a 6 iron 179 meters. For me that's HUGE. On the same hole I hit my longest LPG drive EVER........279 meters, A good kick and roll out for sure but , man 220 yars is a hell ova long way.

Taking the above advice may lead to destruction of your golf game. Laughing at it may reduce stress.

Strange reading this I realized that I seldomly hit my 5 iron. The only shots I have used it for have been knock down shots from under the trees. I was playing a track that had my 5 iron for length on the last hole and for some reason I grabbed my 4 iron instead and flew the green. I was like why did I do that?

"My ball is on top of a rock in the hazard, do I get some sort of relief?"
