It reminded me of golfing in western Washington, what with Clarke changing out his rain pants three times!

And it was annoying to adjust the color intensity each time Ricky Fowler was hitting.

It was posed. C'mon guys.

I've seen the same picture from several slightly different angles. The caddie bib, the bag placement... c'mon. Doesn't take much of a cynic to think that.

I didn't say it mattered. I happen to think it does, but I didn't say that.

Well, yeah - the fact that you felt you needed to point out that it was staged was sufficient evidence that you think it mattered that it was staged, without you having to actually *say* it  mattered. That's how I knew you thought it mattered that it was staged. :-)

But you still haven't explained *why* it matters. I'm trying to understand why you've chided us for not realizing it was staged (with your "C'mon guys..."), when in fact no one claimed it *wasn't* staged. It's just a cool picture.

I thought it looked staged but I didn't even notice the bag off to the side because by and large the "TaylorMade" logo is invisible to me.

It is a cool picture. But if it's staged it's a lot less of a cool picture.

It's one thing to actually catch an intimate, kinda private moment. It tugs at the heart and so on. It's another thing entirely for people to trick you into thinking that's what you're seeing. It's manipulative while trying hard not to appear as such. I prefer not to be lied to.

If you're happy to be duped or misled or tricked so easily, by all means, carry on! I still think it's a cool picture. It just lacks the authenticity I'd require to call it a great picture.

I agree. If I found out that Michael Jordan was pretending to cry in the locker room immediately after he won his NBA title, on Father's Day, after the death of his dad ... then the scene wouldn't be the same to me.

Having said that ... I think most golf fans knew fully well what this victory meant to Clarke and this picture was just one way to symbolize that.

They are showing Darren Clarke's homecoming on BBC1 right now. They just showed him heading home to see his 2 sons for the first time with the trophy and he couldn't stop crying seeing the kids with the Claret Jug. It was a lovely moment to capture.

Staged, obviously. They threw water on his face between takes. Boo. Hiss.*

Darren to Rory: "You might as well hold this trophy now since you will be holding it enough times in the future anyway"

Rory looks like his 3rd son. He's basically following along in the background with the 2 actual sons

Darren, Rory and Gmac getting their picture taken together and Gmac feeling awkward because he has nothing to hold (Rory and Darren have their trophies in their hands)

Last post on this, I swear

    • Yeah I've been trying to weaken that hand (at the time I was also consciously trying to match clubface to spine)   I've found though weakening that hand kind of exacerbates the hook, I'm guessing a compensation from somewhere else creeps in 🤷🏻‍♂️   I've mentioned in my grip post that when I take my grip at address it is square, but if I stand up out of address and relax my arms it holds the hell out of the club, I have a lesson Tuesday hopefully to help but I just can't fathom why soft arms would hood the club, I would of thought it would open it 🤣
    • Day 6 - Full iron swings; focus was backswing speed and whipping my hands at the ball at impact.
    • Day 258: did a stack session.
    • Day 2 (4 Apr 25) - played in the weekly men’s group shootout.  Decent day off the tee and most longer approaches.  Wedges from 70-80 out were off, but green side work was good. Overall a fun day with the crew.
    • $50??? You're not serious, I'm sure. The only thing a $50 driver will be good for is to whip your horse  as you're rounding the far turn heading into the home stretch. Seriously, go to a big box store. They all have used clubs up the wazoo and you should be able to find clubs at a reasonable price. Also, talk to the guys there. You'll be able to tell just by conversing with them which ones are interested in helping you and will provide good advise. Those companies are usually pretty good about weeding out the bad apples who are only interested in making a quick sale. The commission the big box stores pay is so miniscucle anyway that sales guys are usually brand agnostic.
