OK, I've lived in Japan a third of my life now, and I've seen a lot of crazy stuff over the years... but this takes the cake! (pun intended):

They made a wedge of that design 10 years ago or so, here in the States, can't remember the name of the wedge for the life of me, but my brother-in-law use to own one.

Nice find!

Pretty sure they're related.

Has anyone ever hit any of those? the sole alone makes it look unusable to me.

I really wonder what in the world went through the head of the guy who thought it'd be cool to have that in his bag.

I hit my brother-in-laws, total waste of money in my opinion, it had such an odd look it was impossible to get comfortable hitting.  The odd shape made it tough to hit the ball solid, it might have been okay in soft fine sand, but that's about it.

One of my friends has this old-as-hell set of clubs, and one of those Alien Wedges was in it. I couldn't help but to think that, at address, I was using a spatula to hit a golf ball.

The Alien: Slam it like an Axe under the ball in deep rough or sand and the ball will pop up.

The feel: An Axe feels better. That's probably the reason that no major manufacturer bought them out.

I want to say Adams made a more classic looking version of the alien wedge. It didn't look the same but at address it had a very similar set up to an alien wedge. I'm not positive it was adams but that's what's sticking in my mind.

I still have an old alien wedge in the garage.  I used to use it as a "really lofted" L wedge.  But it just is a curiosity in my garage now.
