More of the same here. Hit about a dozen balls really slowly, they only went about 6 feet, trying to feel everything so I have better reference points in my mind for what works and what needs to happen. Only real change I made from yesterday was to get that lead knee flexing towards my toes (yellow arrow) instead of the ball. I can get good results either way but I think I do slightly better this way.

240 fps video. I keep forgetting to shoot any DTL. I have very limited time in the morning to hit 20 balls or so. Half slowly, but with a full swing, and half at full speed. Trying to be more disciplined about getting some real practice time in and not just play golf every time I have free time. Not as much fun, but it will pay dividends in the long run and I'll have a lot more fun when I do get on the course.

Comments, even snarky ones from @barney, are always welcome.

Unless you are SOLLOG, in which case, keep your :poo: in your ass. :-$

EDIT* teeny bit of a flip in this one and I don't think my hips are getting far enough forward but I think that'll all work itself out if I keep hammering that priority piece.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Two things:

1) I think your key #3 looks really good.  I notice that because mine is really bad...

2)  In regards to the practice.  I have actually liked practicing this spring better than I ever have.  I have always been willing to put time in to get better, but now with some direction from @mvmac I feel like I have more of a purpose.  Also agree with the practice paying off and making playing more fun.

SOLLOG!!! The one member on this site that I've ever been legitimately scared of. Please don't mention him for real. I actually fear for Erik on this one.

PS- You're working hard and intelligently. Kudos to you, EJ! I need to take a page out of your playbook.

Isn't that like the self professed profit or something?

Yea, that guy. Maybe we should stop talking about him just in case he regularly googles himself and finds this conversation....

It's better than self professing loss every year.

Looking good EJ.

Thanks. I've never really worked directly on key#3, it seems to be largely a result of my work on keys 1,2 and 4. Squeezing the elbows on the downswing helps but my wrist is still pretty flat even when I don't actively do that. As long as I keep an eye on my key#1 I'm pretty confident that my current priority piece will play a big role in increasing my weight shift.

A Callaway Launch Pad hitting mat for the backyard and a package of wedge tees (virtually unbreakable).

I'm going to review the Launch Pad next month once I've had a chance to beat the shit out of it a little bit. I won't review the tees because, well, they're tees...unbreakable ones so...that's pretty much the review right there.

What, no more carpet remnant? :-D:doh::whistle:

Swing is slowly but surely getting back to the good stuff. Spent a lot of time soul searching, watching Zach Johnson and reviewing my videos from Erie. Seems I've been getting my priority piece wrong. I've been thinking more forward then up, but in reality (for me) I need to feel ALL UP and the rest will take care of itself. If I drive my lead shoulder straight up from A4, my hips have only one place to go and that's forward. Hit some of those sweet, juicy, high floating shots today and I think I'm back on track. Finally. I'm such an idiot sometimes. :-$ Now that I'm back on track with what my piece is and how to execute it properly, I can get down to business with my practice. Best I've felt about my swing in 3 weeks. Putting and short game have been fabulous so I just gotta get on in regulation and then look out mother f**kers, I'm going on a rampage. ;-)

Worked on some stuff today. 3/4 type shots, sawn off followthrough. Just trying to get a good feel for my priority piece so I can turn my brain off when I'm on the course.

Sorry about the blurriness, not sure what happened.

Amazing how much easier it is to hit a golf ball when your not actually playing golf. :loco:

I would spend some time reviewing the video from Erie. You need to do it a lot more. Club still tips out a little. Backswing too in and flat - was better in Erie.

Look at A5 DL view.

OK. Moar!!

As far as the A5 pointing way inside the golf ball, should I just keep working at getting the shoulder piece to flatten it out or should I be looking to add something? In Erie we talked about how the shoulder piece should take care of the laying off of the shaft and the revving would be more of a key#5 control. Maybe I just need to concentrate on swinging right a bit more or getting the trail elbow working lower?

I'm not sure how, but I think I'm getting into a halfway decent A6 from that horrific A5. Obviously I'm making this way too difficult from that A5 position though.

I'll try getting a little steeper on the backswing too, so it's a little easier to shallow out. That'll probably clean up that last little bit of head drift from A3 to A4 as a bonus.

Basically, my mental image and feel when practicing this right now is this:

Recreating the exercise with the hoop and driving up and above the initial plane. I'm going to just keep working on that with slow motions and see what I need to feel to get rid of the tipping out.

Yours in earnest, Jason.
