OK, let's hear it.  Who got golf related items for Christmas that they didn't pick out for themselves or specifically ask for?

I got a pack of brush tees, a Burner towel, a Burner glove and a golf cooler.

For someone that doesn't know a thing about golf, she did pretty well.

I got pro v`s and a small putting green thing for inside

cleveland Hibore xls 8.5* driver
Cleveland Hiborexls 13* 3 wood
Ping S 56
Nike oz putter

I got an interesting gift. I just went to Winter Park CC to walk nine & it was closed for Christmas. I walked on anyway & got a free round of golf.

Great!  I'm such a doofus, I didn't even realize stuff like that was legal! I'm going to go try to find a closed course here and get a free round in myself!  (I think I'll try that fancy country club I ordinarily couldn't afford - I'll just need to jump the fence but I'm sure that's fine!) After that, I'm going to go to the local bowling alley - they're closed too but maybe I can find an unlocked door and get some free bowling in!  Then I'm going to go use my neighbors jacuzzi - they're not home but I'm not hurtin' anybody!! (Especially since trespassing is apparently ok now!)

Now THAT'S what Christmas is all about!!!

Bill

Haha.

Well if it was illegal, then me & the three dozen or so other players out there should have been rounded up.

Sorry, I ain't feeling guilty.

I got a really neat gift.  It's a custom made putting green that has 9 holes all about 2 inches in size made to be a putting game.  It's like a pool table where the balls actually return once they go in and you putt from behind the designated lines.  Best score for nine holes wins.

Here is a picture its a little dirty from the kids.

I did not get anything golf related this year. I think that's because I forgot to ask for anything.

(On a side note, I bought myself a 60" Sharp Aquos LED 240hz RGBY TV that I'm in love with...)

Anyway, I bought my father a new set of Cobra S2 Max Irons that should be here by Thursday (3-Day Shipping) for under $350. The deal was too good to pass up and he was in dire need of some reliable irons for next season as his 7, 9 and PW all broke this season during play.. The set consists of 3 & 4 hybrids and 5-PW Steel.

His birthday is in July, so I'll most likely get him the matching Driver for Father's Day and a nice LW/Putter for his Birthday to complete his set.

I got a Tour Striker, which consequently, I ended up hitting a ball at my inner thigh with this morning.

    • Day 21 - Good session with driver and 6i. Hitting real golf balls is quite a bit different from the foam balls, still getting used to that change.
    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
    • Day 4: 3/26/25 Par4Success workout followed by putting through 50 mm gates.
    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
