Nice clean look, though I'm not a fan of all the prints. Are those clubfaces for real or just demo clubs? Never seen a groove pattern like that before.

Nice photos. But what's up with those grooves or dots? And their irons look like shovels. Not a fan.

I agree, I don't like overly busy designs but these look too close to home made for my taste.  Not sure if the dots are prototypes or if they are experimenting with non-grooved irons.

this isn't a new groove pattern (if in fact it's the grooves they stick with past prototypes).

The idea behind the dot faces is to do something different.  The irons will be available in both dot face and regular scoring lines.  Edel says the testing they have done with the dot faces has shown the dot faces are just as good if not better, in terms of spin, than scoring lines.  I got to hit them and they felt great.  The irons are going to have a lot more bounce than any iron on the market so the club doesn't dig.  The CoG of the club further away from the heel so the center of gravity is at the center of the club face.  Like all Edel products, extensive fitting, materials and custom production adds up, the irons will be around $2500 for a set of 8.

My old man has an old sand wedge in his garage that has a dotted face, only other one I've seen. I might break it out this summer and see how it works, maybe regrip it.

He also has some Hickory shafted irons that I've always wanted to try but I'm afraid they'll break, they're pretty ancient.

Maybe these are like the ugly prototype cars we see at auto shows that hopefully never make it to production. Or is Edel the Chrysler Corporation of the golf world?

Can't recall ever owning Callaway irons and the only TMs I ever owned were ICW11s and those didn't feel as good as I'd hoped. They looked good (something like these below) but I didn't have them for long. I do recall mocking the TM RBZ as well, so it's not just Edel that makes me wonder what it's like to have a limitless golf equipment budget.

If they're already getting rust spots in the cavity when being exhibited at a major trade show (when you'd expect them to be made to look as appealing as possible), just think how they'll look after a year's use.

Those wedges are cool, but I can't say I'm a fan of those irons at all.

I don't judge irons purely by the looks of the cavity - I look at the cavity to see what they've done in terms of forgiveness, and moving the cog back and up.

I judge appearance based on the look at address.

The Edels look good. At the same time, I'd probably concentrate on putters and the new wedge line; and then irons in a couple of years... you can go broke by going too fast.
