I'm looking to replace my 3W & 5W with a 4W to make room for another club.    Have only hit the G15 - haven't hit the Nike or Titleist.     Not alot to chose from in 4 woods - curious, which 4W do you like ?

In a stock setup, I'd probably bag the Titleist if I had a decent swing - the shaft length is close to decent, and the stock shafts work if you choose the right one for you. Plus, they have great feel and are very playable.

I have a Nike SQ^2 4-wood, R-flex. I picked it up when I realized my 3-wood and 5-wood (both Cobra F-Speed) went about the same distance for me. Amazingly, this went a bit further than those two, although I intended it primarily as a replacement for both (I also wanted a neutral face wood instead of the closed face those have).

I tried the G20 - not bad. Prefer the Titleist 910F. Feel is great. The size is not overly big so it is playable from most lies. It's the first Titleist fairway I've purchased after looking at them for years -- not forgiving enough. But the 910F - forgiving but you still need a decent swing -- I might add -- like any fairway. None are really easy for consistency.

I could not tell about the shaft from your bag signature as to flex.

My swing speed is not high - I've got the 7 wd in the Titleist in the Bassara Wyvern 60g and it's a great club. Thinking about the 4 wood.

I don't swing fast either - around 88-90 on the monitor.     I've never owned any Titleist gear - I'll check out the 910f

some other things to consider - you'll need a shallow faced model if you intend to us it from the turf vs off a tee; and since it's shallow faced, tee the ball lower.

the titleist and TM R11s are adjustable which is an advantage i.e. you could self "fit".  The newer TM RBZ, Adams Speedline Fast 12 (or expensive titanium construct - Super XTD) and Razr X Black get good reviews.

i use a MacGregor MT 4W at 16.5-degree.  It has a tall face, so I'm uncomfortable using it off the turf, preferring to use it as a driver replacement from the tee box.  This goes just over 200 yards on average and if pressed about 215-220 yards.

Driver: TaylorMade RocketBallz 10.5-deg
Woods: Cobra Bio Cell+ 3W and 5W
Hybrids: Bobby Jones Workshop Hybrid 3 (20-deg) and 5 (25-deg)
Irons: Srixon XXIO7 from 6 - PW
Wedge: Srixon XXIO7 GW and SW

Putter: Bobby Grace DCT Captiva 34"; Ball: Sirxon Soft Feel; Shoes: Footjoy

I've got an old Mizuno F60 (16.5 degree)....

One of my favourite clubs in the bag, Great off tee or turf !!

Take a look at the Adams new XTD Hybrid.  Amazing clubs.  I have the 17 degree and it is amazing.  High ball flight and you can hit it from some questionable lies.

They also have a 15 degree which I have not hit but I want to.  Curious about the ball flight and length.

Callaway Ft from 3 or 4 years ago.  17deg. I believe.

Same.  Awesome club.  Gets through rough and good from tight lies.

Callawaypreowned.com has these real cheap, and have a try for 30 day then return program.

I was playing an R9 4 Wood and thought it was OK, never could hit it consistently though.  Just replaced it with the R11 and like it much better.  It's a little heavier than the R9 and for not having it for long, I'm hitting it rather well.  220 average and actually knocked one just over 250 today with it.  That was one of those "shots of a lifetime" though, I usually call a drive great if I get it 250.

Nike Dymo 2 4 wood with stiff shaft. Love it! I get great distance and height off turf. I hit it much better then my old 3 and 5 wood. I am considering a 7 wood now too. My dad plays ping g15 4 wood. He likes his.

Ping G15. Great from the tee and fairway, very forgiving and great distance when you put a good swing on it. Works better than the traditional 3 wood, 5 wood combo IMHO. Love mine.:-D

In my Sun Mountain 14 Way Stand Bag:

Driver - Ping G30 10.5* : Fairway - Ping G30 18* : Hybrids - Titleist 915H 21* & 915 H 24* : Irons - Mizuno JPX 850 Forged 5 - GW : Wedges, Vokey 54.14, Vokey 58.12 : Putter - Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 or Ping Craz-E-R  : Ball - Bridgestone B330RX, Cart - Cliqgear 3.5

    • I generally like par-3 courses and find it a darn shame that the last of them closed in my area during the pandemic. Part of it may have to do with the fact that I never have been very good with the longer clubs, so the short holes are a bit more my speed.  Being able to get in 18 holes in two hours was pretty convenient and, ironically, the lack of crowds made them peaceful places to be. Naturally, that's the same reason they no longer exist around here.  The second option sounds like a whole lot of no fun.
