I like Harris English in this event.  He is coming off an insane 60-63 at the Open qualifier.  Seems to be playing really well.

Tough to count out Dufner though, the way he is driving and firing at pins these days.

Gotta say I'm pulling for Dufner. Hottest golfer on tour at the moment. Waggle to win.

Did anybody see yesterday's round, where I don't remember his name, but he was hitting driver, it was an R11S, and the head broke and flew off at impact, and his ball went 315 yards!!!!

But for a head to break like that, whats up with Taylormade, I bet you they cringed when they saw that, not good for publicity. LOL

Edit: It was Kyle Reifer at the 12th hole.

Gainey had a great round...I am looking forward to seeing him play this weekend. He sounded very confident in the post round interview. Dufner had a great surge as well. Checkout my blog below, I write about the PGA Tour mainly.

This is probably just coincidence, but every time I've seen a club fall apart over the past couple years it has been a Taylor Made.  I also think in the Haney Project this season, one of the contestants' drivers fell apart.

One of my buddies this past Spring when I was in Phoenix visiting family... He and I were playing and on the very first hole, a par 5, he hit his 2nd shot from the fairway using his Ping G20 3W off the deck.  And the head flew further than the ball!  Ha!  We laughed about that shot the rest of the day!

But that was the first time I've seen a club break in awhile to be honest.

I will say... I did have to return my TaylorMade RBZ Tour 3W - before I even got to hit it the first time... As when I picked it up, the shaft had a hair line splinter near the hosel.  My fitter was shocked that it made it through Taylor Mades QA.  Who knows... I haven't had one issue with any of the TaylorMade clubs I'm currently gaming, nor gamed in the past.

I'm really impressed with Dufner out there. One thing is to play well a week here and there, but being in contention that consistently is something else. Wonder how long it will take until he realize this and starts missing shots again. At this point, he's rock solid out there, tee to green.

Just waiting to read someone saying:

"Isn't there a penalty for that? I seem to remember hearing that it's a two shot penalty. Didn't the officials notice it? I wonder if he was disqualified".

Just like when they are :"Sure" they saw someone marking their ball when it was off the green" or saw them grounding their club in a grass bunker.

Dufner looking good again...

Surprised to see Corey Pavin playing in Texas instead of Michigan, but as a two time Champ he likes the course.

makes him 2 for 2 in PGA cuts this year to go along with a win and 3 other top 10s on the Champions Tour.  He is definitely a guy who has gotten a lot of mileage out of his game.

How about John Huh. This guy comes from nowhere every other week it seems. He's raking in some big boy cash out there.

Also... I hope Dufner annihilates Johnson out there tomorrow.

Have to agree, although a simple victory would do it.

Johnson comes across as one of the most smug, arrogant players out -  and this was confirmed when my brother saw him at the U.S. Open last year.

If Johnson doesn't keep it close there's no reason to watch, rest of field is 8 shots back.   I'll probably watch seniors anyway.

Press conferences, interviews, etc. make me want to gag when he's on TV.  I feel sorry for his caddy.

How? He just sounds confident. I don't see any arrogance in him and he seems like a nice guy.

Don't know anything about Johnson's personality but I cannot stand watching him play. Probably the ugliest robotic like swing on tour. Chalk and cheese in that department compared to Dufner. Hope Dufner creams him.

He just rubs me the wrong way. Whereas dufner seems like someone I could golf with.

    • Day 1: 2/26/2025: So, I'm starting over on this again.  My son brought home the mother of all flu bugs from school. It raged though our house and knocked me on my butt for about 3 days.  Now, that I think I'm clear of the death plague my son gave me. I was able to rise early this morning and get some nice mirror work in. I felt stiff like a board for the first few swings, but loosened up and was able to get at least 20 minutes of first robotic slow swings and then gradually more fluid swings.  My focus was on the timing and fluidity of my priority pieces.
    • I use a MagSafe connector on my tripod. Occasionally I use those clips.
    • Working on some swing videos. What are you guys having the best luck with as far as devices used to record the swing?  I have a tripod with a magnet that I stick my phone on but it is somewhat of a pain because I have to remove the cover on my phone and when I pull it off the magnet the tripod head changes and moves position. I was thinking something more like an ipad maybe. On a different style tripod and maybe even set it up to mirror to a tv.
