I think I already know what you are going to say circa 5:30 in the broadcast, but I could be wrong.

Tiger can't aim his putter.

Wow. About the only good thing you can say about Tiger's round today is that it wasn't as bad as 2010. Sam Snead, RIP, is popping the champagne cork, like the '72 Dolphins do every year. Oh well, there's always a chance he can pull a Phil, and look like a completely different player next week.

Why? Tiger's just trying to make sure he doesn't repeat the "pre-major Slam" he got in 2009, winning the week he played before each major.

I know, it just doesn't bode well when he's putting so poorly...

It's a miracle that Cabrera-Bello is only +2 on this round, although that's about to go higher.  He is playing like me.

There have been 22 drives over 400 yards this weekend. 2003-2011 there were 27.

Cabrera-Bello is way off. Missed the live showing today and watching now. He is all over the place, shanked a chip shot from just off the green and it went straight right. He punched out from left side under the trees straight across the fairway to behind a tree. They were saying he's only hit 4 fairways and only 1 was his own hahaha

His first two holes today looked more like my typical day on the course rather than a pro's.  He seemed to have a tough time calming his nerves until later on in the round.

I am disconsolate right now...

One of the things that was unbelievable about Tiger at his best was the way he could have a bad week, seemingly missing shot after shot, but at the end of the week he was somehow in the top ten. It's starting to look like he might pull that off today. It looks like Rory is getting his game back, just in time for the PGA. It would be great to see the two of them contend next week. Tiger's playing with Kuchar today, and he's a terrible influence on him. Kuchar just lost a shot to the right, and turned the air blue with a loud, "Oh dear!" My god, what about the children?

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
