Hmm.  VG, I think they are giving us this.

Well in June when it is in the pleasant 70s here in New England and the Southern US is 95F with 95% RH with torrential rain and tornado warnings, the SW is 115F in the shade, and So Cal is on fire, I expect they will feel differently.

Agreed. It is quite balmy and nice in the summer here. We will have to start a "Pleasant Summer golf in the NE" thread then.

Flag on the play - Flagrant taunting against the South Jerseyan and Floridian.

Yeah, July and Aug can be pretty brutal here, but when it gets bad I say screw golf and head to the beach..

Uh-oh, this is not good. I just got a mint W/S 1813 blade putter and high temps are supposed to be around 30 for a long while and putting on the living room carpet just isn't cutting it. I guess my taunting is coming back at me...

Try having 18 inches of snow

6 inches of the white stuff & 21 degrees is depressing enough

I played yesterday. it was right around 30. the bigger problem was that the greens were frozen. I could hit a ball well with a wedge to the center of the green and it would bounce high and fly off the back of the green.

Sunny and 60 all week here next week. I'm going to try to get out and play twice. Best time of year here to play (when the temps reach 60+.) The courses are empty and the rates are as low as they get.

HEY! You're not north-east! You're mid-atlantic. And I have been taunted in return. Still...let us know how you made out. LONG and STRAIGHT all day bro.....

SOooooooooooooooooooo are you taking reservations at your pad? Taxi service to and from the airport?

I live in NJ and playing in the fall was a nightmare. I put a tee shot in the fairway (which isn't often enough), and boom, ball lost. I even stopped looking for balls that went into the trees. Dropped shots added about 7 shot to my scores. Nowadays, the cold is messing with my head. I golfed in about 35 degree weather, but I can't do that anymore, I'm not built for that stuff. I'm gonna be in the DC area for a bit so hopefully the weather is better for golfing

Anyone use the Oakley golf specific lenses? They were probably one of the best purchases I've made. Makes it so much easier to spot balls and read green contours on your approach.

There is a thread in the Balls,, etc section on this.  I use Oakley prescription M-Frames.

    • Option one. Would like an ace even if it’s a worm burner. Have witnessed a couple of aces so would like to be on the other end.
    • OK - I think we should narrow down a weekend, and start there.  We're going to try to do this in June. I've created a Doodle poll where everyone can vote for the options that work for them.  Please include your username so I can track/post results. Doodle Doodle is the simplest way to schedule meetings with clients, colleagues, or friends. Find the best time for one-to-ones and team meetings with our user-friendly calendar tool. Get started today! (I only put in the Saturday dates, but assume the outing would include Friday - Sunday). Once we select a date that works for the most people, I'll start to line up courses and schedule and go from there.
    • Option #2 because I'd add the condition that it's in a tournament. Because that'd mean I'd break par in a tournament. And I already have a hole in one.
    • Hole in one is nice, but those low rounds stick in my memory better. I have two holes in one (and a third on a pitch and putt course which I count as a half). I've shot in the 60s three times in the last 10 years or so and I remember each one pretty well. I'd take the low round.
    • Would You Rather #68: Would you rather make a hole-in-one on a perfectly struck shot, during a round where you otherwise played pretty poorly.  or  Would you rather play well all day and beat your personal best by let's say 3 strokes, but with no eagles.    I'd take option 2.   Although option 1 is always exciting, and rewarding. playing well all day is very exciting because I can also do the opposite.
