Congrats... I am going to be putting all the time i can into fixing my big push slice with the driver.. All my other clubs i am hitting draws or straight shots, and I think it has to do with my body turn, but I'm not sure..

Ii have the same problem and it is cAused by a out in swing path. You may think you are swinging in to out but if you unknowingly rotate your shoulders flip you hand our over swing at impact the club head will quickly move out to in. To correct this you almost have to feel that you are swinging diagonal fron in to out with quiet hands and thrust your hips out to avoid spinning your shoulders. Before i swing i have to groove this a few times and then i swing and the ball goes dead straight or draws. Its frustrating as i have had balls go 200 yards and then curve slightly right. What you are feeling with an in to out swing is not what you are doing. It has to be extreme.

Used to do this as well . Look at where you are making contact on face of club . I bet toe hit , and miss hit makes face open more . Never had proof of this , I just looked at ball marks on face and adjusted by standing a little closer

Gear effect on toe hits will typically cause the ball to draw. Heel hits, the opposite effect.

I tend to subscribe to the above. I try to swing in to out, but I get lots of toe hits, 99% of them are either pulls, or dead hooks. Also, after a range session last night, I've come to the conclusion that my right hand is to active, which might have some impact on those shots too.

I try to keep my left hand above my right, but bad habits take over..lol

Also, I tried like crazy to hit some fades last night, but could not, doesn't matter which club I try to hit a fade with, just doesn't happen..sigh

No I would hit weak push slices . Only when I experimented standing close did it go away . The grip of my club is a finger nail length away from my belt buckle now

If i read that right, your standing to close to the ball. I think you need to look at your swing path. No expert, but when I stand to close, I usually  blade my shots, or hit em fat.

Hammer I stand a half thumb length from belt buckle away from the ball . Standing closer eliminated my toe shot push slice. . I hit very straight now very straight . My bad habit was taking the club too far inside on back swings . Now closer standing doesn't allow me to do this , I found this just through experimenting on own

@billchao was correct, due to gear effect toe hits typically result in tilting the spin axis somewhat to the left (draw).

My toe was push slice weak not hook draw . Not sure why really ? A ways learn all my golf from golf digest . I try a new tip every range outing and standing closer was a great tip from them . Learned the whole game from years of reading that publication . Never read about gear effect sounds interesting

Yeah hitting off the toe doesn't guarantee a draw, if the path is still far enough left the ball will curve right.

      StuM,  I have, in the past, added a left handed club. (Ususally a 7 iron) However, I usually take a stroke penalty and move the ball to where I want it.  I play for fun and in a pinch can use theback side if my club if I don't want the penalty stroke.    RetiredOldMan,  Terry

      So, Brendan Sorsby, Texas Tech transfer QB, was found guilty of sports betting by the NCAA. He admitted to it. He placed thousands of bets over multiple years while at Indiana and Cincinnati. This included betting on his own teams.  The NCAA rules ban athletes from betting on any sport (college or pro).  A retired visiting judge from Tarrant County, Texas has put an injunction on the NCAA ruling. He is a visiting judge because the first judge was a graduate and big fan of Texas Tech, and he recused himself. The judged ruled the following... That still doesn't mean that a college can choose when or where to say, "Yea we agree to these rules for all our sports, well except in this case." Here is a breakdown from S&W. Regula On June 8, 2026, Lubbock County District Court Judge Ken Curry issued a temporary injunction in Brendan Sorsby v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, Cause No. DC-2026-CV-0791 (99th Judicial District... The main judgement made sense. Sorsby, I am going to have all this harm done to me if I don't get to play. The Judge, I agree. The penalty for gambling is too harsh, so here are all these things you must do, and I will grant this injunction against the NCAA. Basically, an analogy would be when a person goes into court for a DUI and they agree to all these other things to not end up in jail.  What sucks for the NCAA is the NCAA has appealed to Texas’ Seventh Court of Appeals, based in Amarillo. All four justices that preside over the court are graduates of Texas Tech University School of Law. It would be hilarious if all four of them had to recuse themselves 🤣. For those who like to read legal rulings...

      The chatter in my brain is when the distance is between clubs since I am pretty weak at shortened backswings, etc. I try to simply decide if being long or short is the better outcome and choose my club based on that and simply not even try for the “real” distance.  For me a full normal swing is what I strive for.

I am not sure the "most golfers" is correct regarding the bolded part. I can understand if there is a bunker, water, and/or OB that a lot of golfers would be fixated on that. I am not sure that leads to ending up more times there. Pending your level in golf, the variance is so large in outcomes, it could be just with in the expected outcomes. I can understand if have a big lake on the right side of the hole being one of the most terrifying shots for right-handed amateur golfers.  I am not sure many golfers are standing over the ball talking to themselves, "Ok, maybe I should step back and pull the 4-iron. Am I lined up right? Oh, the wind came up, should I swing harder? What am I going to have for dinner tonight, maybe steak. (Joking, somewhat 😛)" A question is that how much chatter do you get while standing over the ball. Are you questioning the everything about your golf shot?
