Those kinds of conclusions are made each week.   Nothing new there.    The bottom line is, Ohio State is going to be on the outside looking in unless Alabama and FSU both lose.   Given the piss poor p

Just looked at the top-5 teams from the Big-X and SEC.  In each case, 4/5 teams had one major conference team (if you count ND as a major conference team) on the OOC schedule.  Ohio State's problem is

I remember when they started playing Thursday night games several years ago, basically, I'm assuming, for the same reason as the NFL ... an excuse to throw football on our TVs one more night and get more dinero out of it.  They rarely (basically never) showed any games from big conferences, so that meant that the WAC, Mountain West, MAc, etc, got a lot of air time on Thursdays (and now Fridays too, and even the occasional Tues or Wed.)  I liked that because it meant my boys were on a lot.  But I guess you could say that Thursday Night football has sort of gone big time.

I mean, 3 vs. 5 AND 6 vs. 10??  On a Thursday????  Crazy!!!!  Can't wait!!!!

Well if you want to talk Division 3. Then we can talk about the Mount Union Purple Raiders, from Ohio. Probably the most dominant football team in the history of NCAA football over the past 20 years

Claimed national titles 11
1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012

Conference titles 24
1985, 1986, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012

Additionally, the Purple Raiders own the NCAA football record for consecutive victories, with 55, set from 2000–2003, which broke their previous record of 54, set from 1996–1999.

Just saying, it is pretty damn impressive at any level of sports ;)

Don't think LSU will beat Bama.  Not impossible, but I don't think it will happen.

I just hope its FSU/Bama.  Last thing I want to watch is Bama vs OSU again.

That might be tough there. If MSU gets to the title game, and gives OSU a good game, I think they will end up going to the Rose Bowl.

Wasn't Augustana like that too?  Seems like they should move up a division.  Do they still do the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl?  WPI, my alma mater, had a few good years, but I would rather they put out National Champion engineers.

      New Maxfli Forged Irons - $800!

      Has anyone played the new Maxfli forged irons? For the first time in I don't know how many years, they have come out with new clubs. From what I read, Maxfli was bought by Taylor Made a long time ago which then took all of their ball making technology and patents in order to get into that market. The club business was left to whither and the reorganized company, now a part of Dicks / Golfworks / Maltby, is producing these new clubs. (Their Tour X balls which I play are really good.) Anyway, I tried them both out at Golf Galaxy. There's a player's distance iron (XC-3) and a blade (XC-2) and both feel really, really nice, almost "Mizuno-like" in their soft buttery feel and they're a bargain at $800 for a set. I'm planning to ditch my Titleist's and want to go back to a forged iron. I almost pulled the trigger on the Mizuno Pro-245's last summer, but a damaged tendon sheath in my finger combined with a back injury messed up my golf game so I held off. Now the Pro-245's are no longer available, soon to be replaced by the MX-15. (At twice the price of the Maxfli's...that's what got my attention in the first place.) If anyone has played with the new Maxfli's or just tried them out like I did, let me know what you think.
