9.4 to a 9.9. At least I can say I was a single digit for at least a month. This revision has seen scores fluctuate very wildly, good thing I have a lesson scheduled for tomorrow.

Lol, were exact opposites (7.4 and 4.7) ;). Trade ya?!?!?!

Maybe they mixed our numbers up somehow. ;)

Lol. As much as I want to be a 4-something, I would certainly not wish my shitty cap on you ever!! I do feel like I'm capable of getting into the 4's, but it's a realllly slow process. ;) The way I've been playing and practicing, I fully expect to be back under 7 later this year.

Your goal should be 4. Maybe 5.

Of course I will try to get as low as I can go, but if I end the year with a 4-5 handicap, I'll be a happy golfer

First things first. Will meet you as a single digit player and be proud as a monkey with 7 d1cks. :-)

Did it. 4 years and 9 months passed since I started playing golf. Exactly 5 years after visiting Florida and decided to pick up golf. Hcp 9.7. I am a single digit golfer now, proud and happy.

I have a handicap question.. are you supposed to post every round you play? Even recreational? I mostly just post my tournament scores. Oh and mine is official (but maybe not entirely correct because of the question I just asked?), because a lot of the tournaments I play in have handicap restrictions.

Yes, in the U.S. and Mexico anyway. If they're played under the Rules of Golf, then you post them. If your tournament scores are out of line, your index can be adjusted up or down slightly.

Because of my succes yesterday, I wanted to know my USGA handicap. My EGA handicap just went down from 10.3 to 9.7. My USGA handicap would be 9.5. My USGA handicap was (before yesterday) allready below 10 (9.8). The USGA system adepts faster to changes than the EGA system.

Dropped another 2 tenths to get down to a 1.4... Been on a pretty steady trend this since May and hope to keep it going. Here's my H.I. history this summer.

4-1-14:    0.9 (This one was not real accurate. Didn't have 20 rounds submitted so it was heavily weighted by a couple low rounds.)

4-15-14:  2.0

5-1-14:    2.6

5-15-14:  1.7

6-1-14:    1.6

6-15-14:  1.4

My goal is to be scratch by the end of 2015. Just need to keep things trending downwards.

Another tick upwards but I did discover what I was doing wrong with my driver here lately and damn am I pissed I traded in my SLDR, that thing is a good 10-15 yards longer than the TM rocketballz stage 2, on another good note I'll get 7 strokes instead of 6 at my home course.

I went from 3.6 to 3.4

I am happy and still trending in the right direction!   My last 4 rounds are crappy, so I need to get my act together or my downward trend will come to an abrupt end.  I've had to endure a few rainouts so I haven't played much golf this month.  Through June 20th.....only 5 rounds played!!  For me, this month has been a terrible month for golf.  Hopefully I can at least get to 10 or 11 rounds by month end!!

  • 2 weeks later...

July 1 Revision............I'm going from a 3.4 to a 3.2 and still moving in the right direction!!!   I've played 6 rounds since the 21st and slowly making progress.  PLEASE...let the trend continue.....................lol

I still need to play better golf, but I think I can get back into the 1's before year end!  That's my realistic goal....I ended 2013 at 1.7...I want to get back to where I started.

I got my handicap re-established this week, I'm expecting 20+ when it updates. Which is fine by me, give me a real number to work with and I'll go from there. The course I play these days is pretty tough, so I suspect even high 40s will drop me down to what I was in 2012 when I was shooting low 40s at the easier course. I basically look at it like if I can play well at my new course, I can play well most anywhere else.

I'm following a familiar downward trend just like 2013!! The only difference is it took me longer to peak in 2013 at a higher number....5.4.    I started 2013 as a 1.6 and it was an uphill battle.   I proved that it is possible to recover.  The way I see it,  I am way ahead of the curve in 2014!!

My July 1 revision will show 3.2.... I will have more of the same please...... keep it coming!  (I hope)

What are the odds I can keep trending lower all year like 2013....aside from the .1 November hiccup?   I want to get back to where I started... For you mild climate folks, GHIN closes down in the winter months......FYI. ;-)

:pound: Up 1 full point...... well I'm still not giving up on my goal for the year but I had better get my driver in the fairway more or else I'm hitting 3 wood off the tee for the remainder,or I figure out what is going wrong. For me it's got a lot to do with where I'm at at the top of the swing and if I'm in  a good position then I'm going to hit the ball well over 90% of the time, maybe not in the middle good but in play with good distance. This game just perplexes the hell out of me cause just when I think I'm on the right path something decides to go haywire and when I try and get that fixed it causes me to start doing some other part wrong. :surrender:

    • You all are right, its not that big of an issue, I'll leave it alone, especially after looking at that picture of Tigers beat up putter. But I also noticed the small circle worn on the sweet-spot where he hits it every time, I definitely don't have one of those. Thanks for the replies
    • Committing to one brand of ball this year - Snell MTB Prime X, the 5 doz. pack. Like how they perform for me. At $18/doz., can live with cover scuffing. Iron regripping with GolfPrice MCC+4 Teams std. in red/navy. May be retiring Odyssey Dual Force after 30 yrs. Seems like I can't get it to the hole anymore. Kind of light and has lots of toe hang. My reg. group's hounding finally wore me down.    From Callaway preowned - trying out the Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K in double wide (less toe hang) and triple wide (face balanced). Both also noticeably heavier...we shall see.
    • WOW, it looks like he has been hitting stones with that putter to put all of those nicks into it.  I can't see how a ball would cause many those dings.
    • I'm fighting a knee as well as a foot so I "Feel your pain".  Luckily for me the PT is helping at this time and I am hoping knee surgery is not imminent.  Best of luck to you.
    • I would guess putting grooves in it might make it non-conforming. I am not sure how stringent the USGA is on restoring golf clubs.
