Good summary @Mac62.  Hit the flipping provisional. Better yet, hit the first one well and don't hit a provisional.

Man, why didn't I think of that! I think I'm also going to start carrying my drives 300 yards and having the ball end up in the middle of the fairway rather than drive it the 200 I currently do and leave it in rough behind a tree. ;)

I know right. Instead of wasting my time playing golf. I ought to just coach it.

This dumb situation happened to me twice today. One friggin ball was 1.5 feet outside the bloody white stakes. I hit my provisional like a good little golfer and took my lumps. The second time wasn't that close anyway.

If you slice your provisional OB, then if you're not in a tournament, take your ESC and move on.

Sorry. Didn't make it clear. Two separate holes had the initial tee shot go OB. I hit decent shots on my provisional. The first time it happened was 1.5 feet. Burned me up.

The second time, several holes later, was in the bleeding parking lot.

    • I appreciate that you have taken the time to come back and update. Based on what was previously discussed I feel like the points were; forged, feel good, price, and possibly players distance. If you like the "looks" of those Maxfli irons and if price is a major point, then going straight to the source, Maltby, might make sense. Specifically, the TS3 iron. I was looking into this myself and found some reviews: Fit2YouGolf, Lets Play Thru, and ELITE FIT GOLF. As per your update I found the Maxfli to be ~$1300 fitted the way I wanted. Where the TS3 with the same fitting and assembled by Golfworks was less than $750. I suppose the downside is to actually hit the iron you will need to get lucky and find someone in your golf circle who will let you hit theirs or order a 6 or 7 iron to test. However, the way I look at that is being equivalent to some fittings. If you like the results and buy, then the fitting is free, otherwise the price of the fitting is a sunk cost. If name brand is important, then I submit for your consideration - THE BEST OVERALL IRON of 2024...... FACT !! 😉 A bit tongue in cheek that but also, I feel some good points were discussed.
    • Day 150 1-10 focus on arching the wrist and getting the ball to go left. Recorded, hit foam balls.
    • Day 467 - 2026-01-10 Practiced at Pinehurst every day I was there, and before Junior Elite this morning I got fifteen minutes of backswing checks in the mirror in.
