Death to 2021, rated at 29% currently on Rotten Tomatoes, I give a par.

  • It has funny moments.
  • It's a bit over the top. But duh.
  • It's only an hour.

It's dark comedy. For example, they talk about how the Afghans didn't win a medal at the Olympics, but they won medals in the shooting sports in their homeland as they cut to shots of Afghani militants shooting during a skirmish or war or something.

😛

It's on Netflix.

Army of Thieves, par. Good movie, and then I saw it was the precursor to the next movie I watched…

Army of the Dead, bogey. Just not a zombie guy. Didn't care for it.

The Wrath of Man: Birdie, a fairly easy watch if you like action movies.

Don't look up: Birdie, I thought it was frustrating in a good way, funny and also a good satirical look at the modern world, great ending too.

Red notice: a bogey for me, as i get older i just don't really like far fetched action movies with too many plot holes. I would have loved it as a 14 year old so it's not like its a bad movie just not to my tastes anymore, I'm pretty much the same with all the avengers type movies, just find them sillly and predictable.

I'm giving it only a par, because it was seriously about 30 or 45 minutes too long. I found myself fast forwarding 30 seconds at a time after about 100 minutes.

Though I did appreciate that the tech guy got the "how you will die" thing right at the end.

Probably was a bit too long alright but I did enjoy it

Queenpins, bogey. I feel like this could have been much funnier, much darker, much… more something. It wasn't.

I liked it. Had to watch it a couple of times to catch all the references. Not sure what causes it but it's sometimes tough to make out what people speaking on our TV are saying. Sometimes it's the over the top background sound but not always.

1. Don't Look Up: Was prepared to be annoyed, but ended up liking it a lot.

As @iacas said, a bit too long. I found the middle boring but thought it started and finished strong. Birdie.

2. The Lost Daughter: Haunting, questioning, strong child acting, and ambiguous ending. All things I like in movies. Birdie.

Ghostbusters Afterlife. Birdie. Well done. If you liked the 1st and thought the 2nd was ok. This is for you.

This Changes Everything, bogey. I wanted to enjoy the movie, but it never really answered the "chicken or the egg" question, and it had some insulting (to my intelligence) things in it. For example, the movie spent maybe 30 seconds talking about how 1/2 of 1% was like if you had a plate of 100 cookies, and men came in and took 99 1/2 of them, then the only half cookie left would be for the woman director (or something.

Uhmmmm, thank you…?

The movie decried how women are sex symbols only, and how Rotten Tomatoes reviewers are 75% male… then talked about how Wonder Woman grossed $800M worldwide, like that's an entirely good thing? C'mon.

Agreed - wife didn’t love it, I thought it was more of a political “crazy this is where we are as a country” movie…but solid par

No Way Out, bogey. I'm sure it passed for good stuff in 1964 when it was made (okay, 1987), but man. It was nearly halfway through when the girl was murdered. Everything after that was bogus.

Even the twist at the end… meh.

NIghtmare Alley, par. Tempted to give it a bogey because it was a let down. Might have been colored by having seen the original, although the original bungled the ending. The current one did not. Great visuals from del Toro, but given this stacked cast, the sum was not greater than its parts and Bradley Cooper I just found... boring. The pacing was too languid. It got the ending right though. With actors like Blanchette, Dafoe, Collette, Richard Jenkins, David Strathaim, Tim Blake Nelson, Jim Beaver... I mean this is an all star cast. Hoped for more.

It was a letdown in ‘87 too!

I enjoyed it back then. That was the height of Kevin Costner or approaching it. There was some celeb talk I don’t remember about Sean Young. Are there better spy movies sure but it wasn’t awful.

    • First - glad to see these popping up again. Now to the topic at hand - I would rather be option 1.  If I know how far it's going (I mean a yard or two) I can always play to the wider parts of the fairway and/or the green and still do reasonably well.  Now if I could just really hit the "number" that well.
    • Day 2 (10 Mar 25) - Long day of driving to dr appt with son.  Thankfully got in one of my fave putting drills (two ball side by side) - the goal to have both balls come off the putter face equally by having them come off the putter face as close to the same time as possible.  First few rolls - the toe was leading the way as that ball flew off the face.  By the end of the drill both balls were basically equal off the face, rolling to within a couple of inches of each other.  Nice drill of focusing on squaring the face.  BTW - I was using the old Odyssey DF992.
    • Day 161 - 2025-03-10 Got a decent, long session in. Focused mostly on the backswing feels, and moved on toward the end of the four hours (not all hitting balls, I installed a motion sensing light switch in there too, and worked with a student over FaceTime for a bit) on the downswing feel.
    • Day 31: 3/10/25 Backswing drills with the ProSendr. Reinforcing iron play from yesterday.
    • I wrote up a response as a YouTube comment that I won't be posting on YouTube. What an absolute load of garbage. Your arm doesn't "slingshot" or "bounce" - you use the muscles in your arm to move your arm and throw the baseball. In one video you've managed to get roughly five areas of science almost completely backward. At best, your video sets up a straw man as nobody is telling golfers to do anything like what you show when you're demonstrating a "bad tennis player." The golfers you see on your lesson tee must be from a completely different world than almost anyone else on Earth, because most golfers do something more like what you prefer to teach - their arms are too passive for too long, they stay "up" too long, and are carried out toward the ball from the top. From there, they stall their pivot, often early extending while right tilting to TRY to not swing 15° left. You know… we have ways of measuring these things these days, but you're still stuck with a poor understanding of how the golf swing works and are peddling it to some unsuspecting and unfortunate souls. But, I know… you teach "athletes." I hope for your sake that's just code for "dumb" because anyone with even a room temperature IQ understands that there's nothing truly "effortless" about the golf swing.
