This has been interesting, to say the least. I'm curious. You're new to the site. Can you share with us your name, credentials, experience, and handicap? Thanks.

Why are we wasting our time with this guy?  He clearly does not know what he is talking about and will never be convinced.  He makes lame inferences and declares victory.  He cannot "see" that actual technique and feel are two different things. It reminds me of the scene in The Poseidon Adventure when the survivors split up. @freedrop will go to the bow with the other doomed passengers because some guy in a uniform said so instead of using his own eyes to see that the waters surface is up and not down.  Arguing with him is not worth the electrons.

I don't presume to know how you feel about anything.

I'm satisfied in my opinion of your knowledge, and in the success I've had teaching this method to others, and in how pros actually hit the shots discussed.

If it can be repeated ,then it's golf sound.

Not David, but yes you could. As a golfer we would expect you to be truthful. 99% of us have let it be known how we golf, what our stats are, how some of us have lousy swings, and that we trust the TST members to be honest in their opinion of what they post, by not offering any info. re: yourself, I for one tend to think your a wanna be golf analyst and just spewing stuff you've found on other sites, or the GC. Am I wrong..?

That's the first truth you have written so far, your posts have no value.

What I am writing I believe and have experienced, it is backed up by video instruction by tour pros which yes I have followed and studied. From the reception I am getting I feel no need to provide anything else.

And several people have shown you very clearly that what they say they do is not what they actually do.

You were right about the one thing: you've contributed nothing of actual value (except the marginal value of bumping this thread so others can read and form their own opinions and perhaps learn a thing or two and lower their scores).

We have a student coming to us from eight hours away - a student who can afford to go to anyone - to learn more about the short game. Again, I'm satisfied that we're doing our job of making golfers better.

You were asked a direct question, @freedrop , and we value honesty and integrity here, but you cannot or will not answer. That says a lot.

Is 27.1 your true HC..? If it is, I would be very careful about offering advice to others re: their swings, ect. I would however be more than happy to have Erik, Mike, or any of the low handicappers offer advice, and would think what they say has more merit than someone who cant break 95.

I'd just like some insight into the depth of that experience. I think I've been very forthright with you. Why the hesitancy to return the courtesy?

I think a moderator added that. It was 17 for awhile IIRC. It was "??" before that.

This site asks that you add your proper handicap to your profile :

Please do. Golf is a game of integrity and honesty, and oftentimes advice is customized for the person who is asking the question or participating in the conversation. If you do not have an official handicap index, approximate one. The only acceptable answers for your handicap index are a valid number or "Pro." Members caught lying about their handicap index will be viewed as dishonest scoundrels and will be dealt with in an appropriate manner.

That @freedrop hasn't is yet another indication of his attitude towards his fellow golfers and the requests made of users of this site.

Edit: None of this was even remotely on topic, so it's been moved here.

    • Sad tale.  Both the A's and Raiders.  IMO, cities shouldn't be building stadiums for MLB/NFL teams.  But that's the world we live in.   DAY 3:  30-min range session with irons and wedges.  Working on follow thru -- no hooks! 🙂
    • Backswing: Body is responsible for taking the club around. Arms are responsible for making the club go up.  Downswing: The process is reversed. Weight Forward So, your arms need to do stuff. Set up to the ball. Do not raise your arms at all. Rotate your body as you would in the swing. You will notice your hands stay down near your right hip. So, how does the club get up? Your arms raise it up. You can't take your arms out of the swing. What you are describing might be more of a feel, but it also might not be correct.
    • It depends on what you mean by "while the core remains still" I wouldn't consider his core "remaining still" here, DJ's abs, belly button, and belt buckle have rotated almost 90 degrees by the top of the backswing. Those components of his core then have to rotate/uncoil on the downswing. Far from remaining still IMO.
    • It’s going to change but your basic setup feel should be about the same. Your body kind of adjusts to length and lie angle of the club. You’ll want to pay attention more to ball position as you change clubs more than how bent over you are. I understood what you meant from what your wrote.
    • Oh I probably was thinking the wrong thing or the wrong way when I typed the golf swing was more of a body swing (in my mind).  The in my mind part probably should have said in my opinion or based on what I have read.  Just meant the body needs to be involved more than the hands and swinging the arms while the core remains still.
