Actually, I've read several people saying that around Agusta, its a must due to the slopes everywhere....Guess I must be a dork :p

I think it makes sense if your golf shoes are more waterproof than your sneakers. Other than that ... yeah, it's like anyone over 15 wearing a baseball glove to an MLB game.

Adam Scott in at -3. ESPN just pointed out that that was the score he posted on Thursday last year.

Phil just made 7 at the 7th.

LOL, yea I think I said, "I'd pay ten bucks to know what Tiger is doing right this second." I like to think he's watching the event on his couch in his PJs yelling at Lindsay to make him a protein shake or something. And when Phil made triple, he made this face as he drank it.

So normal sneakers do not have the grip required to walk around Augusta as a spectator? I very much doubt this as I've yet to see any caddies fall over.

I'm really upset that CBS Sports online coverage of Featured Groups 1 and 2 didn't have either Phil's group, Scott's group, or Rory's group.

Really wish I could have seen what happened to Phil on 7.

Fair enough.

Except I disagree.  If I'm going to be traipsing around in the grass and mud of a golf course, and I have shoes at home designed specifically for that activity, it seems pretty silly NOT to wear golf shoes.

Of course, I have a desk job, am currently at work, and am wearing golf shoes now, so, perhaps I'm not the authority on when it is and isn't OK to wear them. :-P

I never thought of it but wearing golf shoes wouldn't be a bad idea. Better than busting my ass sliding down a slope.

I've been playing Augusta in Tiger '14 for a few days now to reacquaint myself haha.

I don't know what shoes you guys are wearing ( bowling shoes? ) but a sports shoe would suffice if you are commonly slipping everywhere you walk?

If the course gets wet, it becomes extremely slippery. I was talking to my boss who was there a few years ago. People in tennis shoes were slipping and sliding all over the place.

Pfffffft, Tiger's probably not even Top 5 at that game.

I've been playing Augusta in Tiger '14 for a few days now to reacquaint myself haha.

hahaha, I did the same thing with Tiger '13, two days ago.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
