Somebody on here ( @LBlack14 maybe?) had an old set of Tommy Armour 845 professionally refinished and they looked awesome! Yeah it was LBlack14, here they are. Look great!

Haven't bought any irons for 4 years because my fitter is a friend and hadn't found anything that might suit me better. Until now. Going for the Miura PP straight necks (minimum offset) with Aerotech Steelfiber shafts and he's going to take out the gold fill in the emblem because that sucks. Test club feels like rubbing a pat of butter all over Paulina Gretzky's boobs would feel. I imagine.

Beautiful irons @iacas . I might not be able to get the ball in the air with those bad boys.

Those miura's are so beautiful.

+1. So choice. Wish I could play the blades but I just can't with my swing speed and launch angles. Beautiful Edels there, too.

My personal short list of the absolute best gear in the game: Woods -- Wishon. Irons -- Miura. Wedges and putter -- Edel. Get fitted properly into those and you are DONE.

Yeah, it didn't last. I hit it all over the shop and -- in the words of Dean Wormer (more or less) -- short, drunk and crooked is no way to go through life, son.

Search for a Ping eye2 thread started by the user Famous Davis.

Quite possibly the greatest TST thread of all time.

I'm a few pages into that thread.  It's gold Jerry...gold!

I'm now past halfway through it, and wondering if "famous" started out this thread as a jest or wether he was a bit serious to begin then just let his imagination run wild?? If the former is true then this man surely invented trolling, there were some classic bites and he just reeled them in one handed! Either way, great work, thanks for the heads up on this earnest! I'll have to see it through now!

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
