We might also visit family, but it might also be just a long day for us. Unless, we are coerced into staying at Mvmac's place.

Mike has gone very quite so I can only assume the inn is full.

If hotels are too expensive, we can all crash at Mike's house and he'll make us dinner too.  Right @mvmac ?!?!?!?!

Wait, we get a stay/dinner and free lessons at Mike's house? Cool, Mike. You're the best!

So here's the deal; Coronado already has a bunch of groups that day and is unavailable for the 9th. Encinitas Ranch said they can do 16 players starting at 10am. The price there would be $80 and include the golf, cart, and range balls.

Does that work for everybody?

Works for me. Are we also going to have an outing near you this summer too? I think we threw the idea around when we were out in Yorba Linda for the spring outing, but I think you and I might have been the only two interested.

  • 2 weeks later...

We are confirmed for 16 players on Saturday, August 9th with tee times starting at 10am. We'll use handicaps from the 8/1 revision, so once that time rolls around, get those to me and I'll start to put together the groups.

Nice, thanks for the planning on hole 1.

So, all us handicappers above 15 handicap and players under 18 of age get full handicap strokes on the stableford and we get to play the senior tees?

You know… GamePlanning is something you do "in the moment" a bit more so than something you do days before-hand.

You could, I suppose, map out your tee shots, but unless you hit them all to the spots you planned… you're gonna have to make up new ones on the fly anyway. Or if the wind is different, or you're weak that day or something, or your ball flight is a bit different, even your tee shots will have different plans too.

Yes, of course.

You could, I suppose, map out your tee shots, ...

This is really all that I meant.  At least use it to get a feel for what might be the best landing area, and then come up with the corresponding club.  Obviously, beyond the tee shot, there is nothing more to be done yet.

Nice, thanks for the planning on hole 1.

You can click on all of the other holes on there and see the entire course.  It also has a measurement feature built in ... just click two points and it gives you the yardage.

P.S.  Looks like a pretty short course,

P.S.  Looks like a pretty short course, <6500 from the tips, so we could probably all play from the back, no??

I saw the yardage on greenskeeper, and thought it was 7000 yards, but in any case I was joking.

Thanks for the planning map, I am checking it out. I noticed that you are planning for birdies on the par 5s?
