3:30 for 13 holes. On pace for 290 minute round. In twosomes. In one fairway they both looked at each other and said "I thought you were away. "

If Kaymer can get to the clubhouse at 8-under, I can't see how he loses tomorrow. 7-under or below? We have a tournament on our hands.

I like Kaymer, but I hope he drops a few strokes coming down the stretch. It would be interesting to see him play Sunday with Fowler, Compton, Stenson, and DJ right behind him.

I don't think Compton has the fitness to play at his best for 72 holes. That's not going to stop NBC from giving him a 10-minute Jimmy Roberts feature before the final round, or the press from gushing his story in Sunday's sports pages.

I think he'll surprise some people, but he's not going to win

Feel a bit sorry for Na. Just hasn't been able to keep his concentration to the end.

The more I practise, the luckier I hope to get.

Great finish from Kaymer. Not over yet, but giving him a five-shot start doesn't look too simple.

So Kaymer and Fowler in the final group?

Yep.

Hard to see him giving up the lead, I probably won't watch tomorrow

So you don't think an early double from Kaymer and an early birdie from Fowler would narrow the gap somewhat? It wouldn't surprise me if it becomes very very tense at the end. With those runoffs a four shot lead with 6 to go is no cakewalk.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I remember saying the same words the last time the Open was at Pinehurst and everyone thought there was no chance Retief Goosen would blow his lead. Anything is possible.

I guess you're right, but I really wanna watch some WC games so i'll probably just check the leaderboard and if things get interesting i'll check it out. I hope Rickie or Compton can win

Watched a little bit of this today because it was broadcasting on the web for free for some reason and I caught a hole where this Kevin Na skulled a chip across the green and then muffed the comebacker.  Total weekend hacker style, I loved it. :-$

    • Bryson got hit with a 2 shot penalty, after the round, for improving his lie on hole 5.  Here is a post on X, showing how he stepped on high grass when he was looking down his target line.  When they cut to the side shot, you can see how close he was behind the ball.  I think the R&A probably made the correct decision. You just have to be really careful when you are walking in the high grass, around the ball and where you are to make a swing.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
