DJ just hit a duck for your life hook. That was close to hitting those people. Low line drive.

This is dead on. He's a great player, but he just doesn't excite the crowds or even himself. Pretty much a steady Eddie kind of guy.

I wonder if the USGA is making a par 4 or two drivable each day to try and reduce the number of divots in the fairways for the women? Perhaps we'll see the par 4's that played long for men play short for women and the short par 4's play long for them.

The USGA has said the positioning of the tee boxes for the women won't have them landing their drives in the same areas where the men have played.

We'll have to see.

Anyone see the duck hook from DJ- his 2nd on par 5 16th? Whew. Anyone still watching? I'm enjoying Kaymer's dominance myself. Inspiring to me. The France match is getting equal time though.

I do t care who it is, I don't want to watch a battle for 2nd. Impressive play by Kaymer, but this stinks.

We need it. Or like a DJ/Scott playoff. Just something interesting. And a big name winning not named Bubba.

Or Shingo Katayama winning by 8 strokes.

I would begin watching cricket if that happened.

Pure domination on days 1,2, and 4. Of the final 8 pairings today, 15 of those players were all over par, totaling +50. Kaymer is -2. Just a few holes left to seal this, but that's domination.

    • Yeah that didn't pass the smell test
    • Bryson got hit with a 2 shot penalty, after the round, for improving his lie on hole 5.  Here is a post on X, showing how he stepped on high grass when he was looking down his target line.  When they cut to the side shot, you can see how close he was behind the ball.  I think the R&A probably made the correct decision. You just have to be really careful when you are walking in the high grass, around the ball and where you are to make a swing.

    • Day 27 (17 July 26) - Normally an 18 hole day, but due to commitments abbreviated the round to 9 holes (played the back nine at home course).  Had a solid session where even the worst miss (tee shot off 18) was fully playable.  Shot a solid 39 (6pars, 3bogies) - not dbls, no three putts - just boring golf.
    • Overall, well said. People have to be very careful in trying to describe very complex problem in simple terms. In this case, it is a clear fundamental misunderstanding of Newton's 1st and 3rd laws.  To clarify more on the misinterpretation of Newton's 1st law. The exact interpretation of Newton's 1st Law....  "Every body continues in its state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line, unless it is compelled to change that state by forces impressed upon it" yea, a body will stay motionless unless a force acts upon it. An object will stay on its path of motion unless a force acts upon it.  I get it, complex physics problems are difficult. There is a lot of simplification done in most physics class when it is taught. A classic problem uses a frictionless surface. Projectile motion excludes drag and wind direction. Collisions are usually elastic. The golf swing is not a simple physics problem.  Yea, I think they got caught up the data on the graphs and are not truly understanding cause and effect.  If the golfer isn't first pushing into the ground, then the ground isn't going to push back.  The internal forces of the body create the motion, not the external forces from the ground. The ground isn't like what Psy uses to start his concert. 🤣 You probably need to be connected to the ground and have those GRF to help the body produce the motion you want. Your body has to move in the right way to produce the GRF which helps you move the body in the way you want. Body motion precedes the GRF.
