Anyone notice Kerr hawking Coors Light on her hat and her caddy's in the tourney this past weekend? Kinda threw me for a loop. I'm not crazy about it, maybe because I have 14-yr-old girl. I think girls are more impressionable than boys as it relates to celebs (I say this having also raised a boy, now 22). No crusade here, I hope Christie makes as much money as she possibly can during her marketable years but I do wish she had made a different decision here. Anyone else bothered by this?

Nope, not really. My dad always let me have the first sip of his nightly beer from when I was very young. Not a big deal. I don't hardly drink at all.

Not I.

I think if a 14 year old actively tries to go out and pursue a 6 pack of Coors (highly unlikely) because it was on Christie Kerr's hat...than you have a bit of a rebel on your hands, nothing more.

Look on the bright side...at least she's not promoting Everclear :-P

Why in the world would that bother me?

BTW, I have a 14 year old daughter too......but I don't understand what that has to do with it either.  Sports figures and celebrities endorse products.  Some are appropriate for children to use, and some are not.  It's not the responsibility of the celebrity to teach the kids the difference.  That falls to the parents.

Interesting, I thought more would raise an eyebrow, as I did. And to be clear, I'm not terribly worried about my kid running down to the packy to grab a six pack and some smokes because she has a strong family, understands right from wrong, etc. Lot's of kids don't have the kind of upbringing mine does, however and therein lies the concern. I still find it a bit questionable. Anyway, good feedback.

Other than the fact that it's crap beer, and you have to drink exactly 42 of them, to get drunk. I see nothing wrong here.

I can personal attest that some 16 year old girls get crazy drunk (or at least fake it very well) on 3 Coors Lights.

Disclaimer: This was a decade ago when I was also in high school.

48 actually, but I'm Canadian which may skew the stats a bit... On a semi-related note, Rolling Rock has recently become a hot item in Canada which blows my mind. Why on earth 3rd rate American beer has become popular amongst Canadians is beyond me.

All golfers should revere Rolling Rock because it was created and brewed in Latrobe, PA!  Unfortunately, Budweiser bought it and moved it out. I have a friend whose father and brother were brewmasters there.  They bought the brewery back from Bud and now make craft beer for various customers.  RR was not a bad beer if it was fresh.  It did not travel well IMO.

I thought Christy had better taste than Coors Light.  Awful beer.

Agree. Molson is awful. As is Labatt's. Just putrid stuff around.
