The Seahawks are looking tough again!  Seahawks vs Green Bay should be a fun game to watch.

No way Rodgers has a decent day if he can't move again like he couldn't against Dallas. The Seahawks d is too good. I'm picking Seahawks/patriots super bowl with the Seahawks repeating.

I'd be happy with the Seahawks repeating. Or Rodgers getting another one. Or Luck getting his first.

Either of those 3...I'd be ok. ;-)

I'm definitely picking Seahawks to SB, even though I'm pulling for GB. I'm picking Colts in the AFC just because they are way too Lucky.

I'm suspicious that Luck is not his real last name but more of a stage name. B-)

OK then I am picking that the Browns don't make the playoffs for another 42 years just to keep it even! :-P

Only 42 years? How about the Detroit Lions? Everybody has heard about the Boston Red Sox and the "Curse of the Bambino," but how about the Lions and the "Curse of Bobby Layne!" (http://curseofbobbylayne.com/wordpress/)

Bobby is a Hall of Famer and anyone living in Michigan at the time could tell you which bars Bobby liked to frequent. Imagine the popularity of this individual in Detroit and then multiply it by the fact his team had won NFL Championships in 1952, 1953, and1957. In 1957 Layne was leading the lions toward another championship when fate stepped in. In a game late in the season he broke his leg in 3 places during a pileup. His replacement, Tobin Rote, finished the season and led the Lions to victory in the 1957 championship game. The next season Bobby was traded for Earl Morral and two future draft picks to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Layne would remark later that he considered it “a pretty crude way to brush him off after all those years”. Layne was stunned and hurt and it is during this time he was alledged to have cursed the Lions for 50 years. The saying goes that “Bobby Layne never lost a game, he just ran out of time”, well the same can be said for his curse, for over 50 years the Lions have tried to defeat it with no success, it seems now that  Bobby’s curse has decided to stay past the expiration time which was in the fall of 2008. I regard the pass interference play and the holding call that wasn't called in the Dallas game just another part of "The Curse of Bobby Layne."

I came to know Bobby Layne as a young football fan and still regard him as my favorite Steeler.

LOL ... there really isn't a bad scenario to come out of these next games.  All 4 combinations are going to be easy to get excited about and should be fun to watch.

Regarding the NFC game and specifically the Seahawks D, Bill Simmons made a good point on his podcast yesterday:  Rodgers is, far and away, the best QB they have seen in about 3 months so we probably shouldn't expect it to be too easy for them. Of course, they're still the Seahawks so it may not matter. ;)

If Rodgers isn't close to 100%, I don't see them winning. Seahawks D is too good, and Russell is too dynamic.

If he gets the protection like he got in the second half last week, his leg won't be a factor.  He can just stand still and throw darts. :)

But, yeah, I agree that it's going to be tough for Green Bay in Seattle.  I wouldn't pick them if I was a gambler.

Sea Hawks have the #1 d in the league and their defensive line gets way more pressure on the qb than the cowboys line this season. Dallas's d-line didn't even have a sack till something like week 8 of the season. Surprisingly though Dallas was 15th in sacks(28), Seattle is 9th(37) in the regular season I think Rodgers is going to have a long day, and I think in order for the packers to win they are going to have to run Lacy a lot.

I agree with running Lacy but he didn't do anything against them in week one. I wish rodgers was completely health. Right now they are basically hoping he plays a perfect game on 1 leg. I hope GB gets the win but I'm not very confident that will be the outcome.

I agree the Seahawks have a good D, but they haven't played a good offense since Dallas was there in October.  Beating up on 3rd string QBs wouldn't build my confidence.  And remember, the Panthers were a 7 win team in the regular season.  Rogers is excellent even if he has to stay in the pocket.

They played Dallas on October 12.  Since then they have faced:

  1. Austin Davis
  2. Cam Newton
  3. Derek Carr
  4. Eli Manning
  5. Alex Smith
  6. Drew Stanton
  7. Kaepernick
  8. Mark Sanchez
  9. Kaepernick again
  10. Ryan Lindley
  11. Shaun Hill
  12. Cam Newton again

So ...ummm, yeah.

That doesn't matter much. It matters which teams catches fire at the right time. Look at NYG when they beat the NEP that one year. In that final 1/4th of the season (including playoffs) they were way better then their record. Still, I don't consider Cam Newton an elite QB, he hasn't looked sharp this year.

The key to the game for me will be Eddy Lacy. If he can have a big day then I think that will help Rogers out. If Rogers is forced to throw the ball, I don't think he'll have consistent protection enough against Seattle's Defense.

I am going to say, Seattle 27, Green Bay 17

I don't know if I would say they hadn't faced a good offense since, Dallas, they played the eagles in week 14, and even if sanchez was their qb they still put up nearly 30 points a game, and the Seahawks held them to 14 pts. Should be a good game either way.
