I voted no. I also don't particularly care if it's cool or not. I enjoy it.

I voted yes for the same reasons. Who cares?

Being a geek wasn't cool in high school either. It's worked out pretty well for me though. :)

What's that got to do with anything?

I have no problem saying that nobody here is cool. :)

Yeah my wife as well. In her opinion golf is dorky, and posting/reading about golf is even dorkier.

Lol, yeah, Barney and I had this conversation last year. His wife thinks he's a loser too. Ha ha. I wonder what Erik's wife thinks? She's married to the Mayor of Dorkville. :-P Plus he wears his True Tours clown shoes to the mall and stuff. Ha ha.

Wearing mine right now in the office...   I can't help it, they are the most comfortable shoe (by far) that I have ever owned.

Oh, I hear ya. I've gone to the bar with them on after a round, super comfy and, with the right pants, they look good IMO. The wife however, does not share my opinion.

My wife laughs at me when I wear my black pants with neon/lime green pattern and neon/lime green shirt. She laughs at my pink checkered shorts my multi coloured shorts...basically 90% of my golf gear. not to mention my belts, hats and sunglasses that all accompany the outfits. I love the "dorky" outfits. Its almost like halloween every time I hit the links. I never wear any of those out in public though lol. But I do like certain polo shirts for everyday wear.

My son and I were paired on the weekend with a young man who plays high school golf.  My son was very interested because he hopes to play in high school when he gets there (4 years).  The boy said that it wasn't too hard to make the team, since golf isn't that popular these days.  So I guess it's lost the coolness factor of the peak Tiger years.

My son was encouraged because the boy said to make the team you just had to shoot 50 three days in a row.  Doesn't sound too tough.  But then he asked what school my boy would be going to.  When I named it he said, "oh they're really good".  So my son might have a tougher time of it.

As it's been brought up, depends on your environment.

There are finally people who "golf" where I work and when I tell them I shoot in the high 80's....all of a sudden I'm the "good" one.

I hate my current swing (head moves all over the place, can't keep my left elbow straight, etc....) and they all tell me that they love it.

I'm in the cool camp....I still get the "oh, you play golf?" remarks in a good way. B-)

I think at times my wife would rather I go to the strip club lol. At least she understands it and has nothing against the "dress code" for those places. I also think she would want me to go to the strip club dressed in my golf gear so that she would really have nothing to worry about. But she's cool like that!

    • Day 87 (27 Jul 25) - Made it an easy session with the wedge this afternoon, worked on staying in the shot and not lifting out - split between low spinners and higher floaters.
    • Shot my new low 72 (par 70) today. Had 5 birdies, also a new best, which included a hole out from the bunker on par 3 6th, and another hole out pitch from 15ish yards on the long par 4, 15th.  Got a couple of other good breaks. Except for an OB drive on 14th (and ensuing double bogey), not much went wrong. All in all I might have used up a year's worth of luck in a single day.
    • Back in the saddle after vacation.  Day 1: played 18. Did not have it, but still battled to an 82. Felt closer to a 90, but that’s fine.
    • Yes, I have seen this from the older crowd that play the 4,700 yard tees and want to know why they get less strokes from there. Always trying to game the system 🤣
    • Day 300 - 2025-07-27 Good 44-ball segment. GSPro was acting goofy, so I just put it on the Quad. Then I hit a bunch of low spinners. Hit 14° down to 9.8° down, with the average closer to 12.3° or so. Focused mostly on the backswing. Right knee good, hands roll up and out a little before laying off (FAR).
