Incredible sand shot by Reed.  Some distance from green, probably a wedge and ball goes up in the air, over Reed's head and backwards.  You got it right, back and behind Reed.  I've hit tee shots up and backwards but never from the sand.  Commentator only said 'rare mistake' by Reed.  Had he seen me play, on bad days. he would have said, 'once again f*cked it up'.  No replay of that shot. Keep the dirt under the rug, you know.

So if Phil and Keegan crap out this afternoon does the love affair end or does Watson send them out tomorrow? I get the impression Watson made his schedule ahead of time and intends to stick to it no matter what.

It looks like they are battling back. It would be huge if they pull out a win or even a half.

I'd like it if they found a way to come back but Phil looks to be having one of his live and die by his putter days.

Johnny Miller, explaining how to hit a shot off a concrete cart path.... ......"you have to try to slide the club face right under the ball." Really Johnny? REALLY?!.

And....Chili Dip Mahan possibly costs us another point or half-point.

When are people going to wake up and stop putting this dude on the team? I mean I like the guy and all, but he's not cut out for RCs.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
