Yeah that's crazy that it was for the win! Looks like he won the Junior-Pro by 2 strokes.  If that doesn't hole out he could easily be in the rough, scrambling to try and take it to a playoff.

i prefer the term albatross

nice shot

Not to get OT, but when the hell did "albatross" come into vogue?  Fairly recently.  It was always double eagle back in the day......then someone got the weird idea that it needed it's own unique bird.

To continue the OT, double eagle doesn't make sense. An eagle is -2, a double eagle would be -4. :)

Everybody still says "double eagle" around here. I guess we are just rebels.

i think double eagle is only used in america.

Not sure how definitive this is, but most of what I'm finding tends to support it.....especially the origination of the term "birdie" and subsequently better scores.

http://www.scottishgolfhistory.org/origin-of-golf-terms/bogey/

It seems as if those that coined "birdie", also subsequently used "eagle" and "double eagle".  "Albatross" seems to have come into vogue at some time later.  As an example, every article I can find about Gene Sarazen's "shot heard around the world" at The Masters in 1935 specifically refers to it as a double eagle as well.

I guess I'm just old and crotchety, I'm sticking with double eagle.  No need for this new-fangled, non-traditional terminology.....and yeah, I still refer to my long clubs as "woods" too.   None of this "3-metal"  BS for me! ;-)

I'm with you.  It always was "double eagle" for me growing up as well.
