Paging @Golfingdad

Time to pay the price for living in the land of the 12 month golf season. I got $2, now get in that god damn pond and flail!

I do have a very large (semi-heated) water tank for our cattle. Perhaps I could do it in there the next time it needs to be cleaned and filled.

Use clean water. The water goes everywhere. I splashed my face with enough water to wash my hair after just two attempts in my swimming pool.

I live nearby. I will travel and make the video. I also have the benders, clubs etc if a particular wedge needs to be specified, I will make it also.

:-D

I know better than to touch that water before I clean the tank. Cows have a habit of taking a dump wherever and whenever they please, even if things such as food, water, or other cows are in the way.

the purpose of this is to go meet a cool guy and bring back some video. Hydro dynamics indicate a specialty club that if made may have no useful purpose on the planet save this video. But if its needed, i have the tools to make the club, will throw them in my truck and haul ass up to North AL to get it done by MS256.

Also I have a set of high bounce Mack daddy 2 wedges where the 60 is a 12 or 14 bounce that should provide as much help as is allowed. They are forged, so a 64 degree 16/18 bounce is possible on my scotty bender.

I think some of you are still missing out on a pretty basic thing: a bullet (which is far more aerodynamic and traveling 20x faster or whatever) only really penetrates a few feet of water. A golf ball even if it's hit at 100 MPH (which would be quite a feat since you have to swing a clubhead fast enough to hit the ball 100 MPH) will have a really hard time traveling through even 12" of water let alone 17"+.

Ya. This bullet doesn't fair too well here:

Even if it were possible for the club hit a golf ball under water at speed the ball is not going to go anywhere due to the resistance of the water.

Physics Shymisics. We can file the front edge and make a cutting wedge. Or not, as a disturbed fluid offers less resistance because of broken tension. Perhaps the obtuse edge of a wedge can create a wave front which allows some magic low pressure eddy behind it. An arrow will penetrate a bucket of water whereas a bullet will not. Lower speed and mass may allow it to happen. How far must this ball go again?

An arrow will penetrate water because it has length.

I recognize a high grain weight relative to frontal area also helps. I guess submarines have a reason for the design. I would take a drop from 12" of water.

Your problem is the ball, not the club.

Correct, as Erik just pointed out. Stop worrying about the club @trickyputt ;-)

well the ball is sitting under a certain weight of water that has to be moved. Perhaps a larger blade on the wedge, such as an old school niblick?

You know, of course, that this sparks the next challenge. How far can you hit a ball off a cow pie! :-D

Or where's the craziest place you can take a dump. Video or it didn't happen. :w00t:

It is difficult to measure distance underwater with your eyeball above water.

Having tried water balls for fun ... an inch or two is one thing, 12 inches ... and you'd not have any club speed even if you managed to touch the ball, and then the ball would have to travel with speed to emerge from the water ...

But whatever shot you took, good shot.
