Tiger said he's caught in between patterns. I have a hard time believing that with a short game. I've changed swings before but I don't go through big changes on a chip shot? I think his head is simply a mess right now.

2nd hole: TW gets yet another fluffy shot chip shot like he had on the first hole - look for your typical yip double-hit here......hard to believe he missed the green from 110 yds...

EDIT: chipped it in...no yip.....whew!

Wow, he bogeyed the first, and was off the green chipping for par on the 2nd. Then chips in for par? Whew. Rollercoaster already.

I think he tweaked his back....

Looked like your typical TW pain reaction in the back, after he hit his second tee shot and awkwardly bent over for the tee.....

Had a nice half wedge off  tighter lie on third hole - no evidence of a yip.......BOGEY third hole, +2

Posted

4th hole: greenside pitch from thick lie -  runs ball by about 4 feet, but not a bladed shot like first hole: relatively good shot.......saves par with putt.

on another note Horschel is having a miserable start.......bogey, triple...+4 after four holes.....

Seriously, these MF'ers at the Golf Channel are showing three (3!!!) shots at a time and then going to commercial breaks. Are you kidding??

Makes sense to DVR and watch later - while fast forwarding through all the commercials....very frustrating to watch PGA events on the tube anymore.....but someone has to pay for these huge prizes golfers get for winning --

Yeah, it was driving me crazy too, so I put on the live feed from PGATour.com.  It's only one hole, but at least it's continuous coverage.

It's pretty terrible. Too much commentary too

The way he's leaning down to pick up the ball.....seems like an injury there. If it's another back injury, then I'm at a loss for words.

Weather delay in San Diego?  What the heck.  Looks fine out my work window but I can see the fog/overcast over Torrey which is about 3 miles away.  I see the blimp also.

Show off, I have 14 inches of snow outside my work window.

Brooks is on the north course.

I'm rooting K.J, he's tied for the lead and is on the South which kind of makes him in the lead.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
