Dunno if an adult gave her the idea below or if she came up with it herself, but playing golf like you're in the Matrix. I have fixed feelings about that. Get off my golf course kiddo! :-) But someone already invented an artificial green that can change on the fly.

How many players on the LPGA tour don't wear a glove?

JACK NICKLAUS HAS TALKED ABOUT MAKING COURSES SHORTER, rolling back the golf ball and other ideas to make golf faster, easier and more fun. I agree with him. A big concern for me is the environment. If courses were shorter, they wouldn't need as much water. One day, I could see golf being played in a large stadium, with a single hole changing into a different hole after the last one was complete. You'd actually hit the ball and watch it fly the whole distance, but after that a simulator would take over and change the landscape for the next shot. Mounds, covered with artificial turf, would grow or shrink. A green would rise. Giant fans would change the direction of the wind. You could play a whole round in an hour. And it would be a blast.

I didn't bother to read after I saw Lucy's photo.   She's  only 13 years old and they must put a lot of make up as if to sexy her up.   I don't know whose idea it was to do that but I felt sick to the stomach.   Kids should be left to be a kid, and not "made up" to appeal to adult male readers (I assume most people who read GD is men).    Maybe, it's just me.

Are we looking at the same pictures???  She looks like a kid who has an affinity for stripes and that's about it.  I see no excessive make up or anything like that.  There isn't anything about that picture that looks "sexxed up."

I think it's just you.

I'm impressed about how seriously into Golf history she seems to be, she seems to know a lot about players like Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, and Francis Ouimet. Obviously a very bright kid.

+2.  She looks just like my goddaughter.  No make up at all.

The "roll back" idea is an interesting debate we've had a lot on this forum.  But there are other ways to make the courses challenging without limiting technology.

The "roll back" idea is an interesting debate we've had a lot on this forum.  But there are other ways to make the courses challenging without limiting technology.

I thought that the height of the "panic" regarding the necessity to roll back the ball or lengthen courses ended awhile ago.  Back before they had the limits that they now have on the ball and CORs.  Pros were routinely shooting 64s and 63s and tournaments all seemed like they were won at -22 or something.  Now that they've capped the ball and drivers, I just don't see the problem to be that severe.  In fact, I don't see it as a problem at all.  Seems like most tournaments now (Humana Challenge notwithstanding ;)) the winner is hovering around 9 to 12 under par.

The roll back idea does have appeal though.  If they just took 10% or whatever off the ball then all of a sudden we could all move up a set of tees and there would be no need for 7400 yard courses.  Seems reasonable.
