Tiger is known for taking what he chooses out of a swing session with his coach. He may not take some swing changes into tournament conditions because of lack of confidence. What a wreck that would be doing swing changes in practice sessions but holding off in tournament conditions??

I've also heard that ... when he was with Haney, it would take him 6 months to do something that Hank asked.

It's about trust, and I think he has had issues with trust. It looks as if those issues may continue under Como. Problem is Tiger is running out of time .... he needs to trust. Or his coach needs to act like a Marine DI and just get freakin' tough with him.

The loss of Tiger's father is under-appreciated in its effects, I think.

I'm not the first to say it by ANY stretch of the imagination, but I don't think enough people give it the weight it probably deserves.

I would agree with that 100%. Good or bad, I think Earl Woods was very much a big part of Tiger's life and he really looked up to his father. Losing him was probably a very hard thing for him.

Tiger has had a trained eye on his swing, starting with his Pop, since he was a kid. His comfort zone is the presence of a trained eye to scrutinize his swing. I don't believe Nicklaus had Jack Grout down his throat every single day.

Interesting to hear Notah say yesterday that he didn't really understand why someone at the top of the game would rebuild his swing, let alone do it on multiple occasions.

Hank had a good point on PGA Tour radio.  He said he did some basic math and calculated that Tiger has missed the equivalent of 4 years out of the last 8 years due to personal issues and injury.  He said that it's a credit to who Tiger is that people still expect him to win given how much time he's missed and that he doubts fans would expect it from anyone else on Tour.

Yeah, part of the downside of raising expectations is that… well… everyone always seems to have raised expectations. :)

Which is probably how it should be.
