If I recall the Republicans called Clinton out for bombing the Taliban as a means to distract from the Lewinsky affair.

But who knows it would have happened under anyone else. Maybe, maybe not!

But using their logic that Bush kept us safe, (not counting 9/11 and 12 over seas attacks). how do they reconcile Obama has made us "unsafe", when he has had no attacks on American soil and benghazi (BENGHAZI!!!!!!!)?

There has been 4 attacks on US sites under Obama.

Also, maybe because of the stuff Bush implemented after 9/11 to make sure that another attack on American Soil hasn't taken place. Policy carries over from president to president. It was Clinton's poor housing policy that led to the housing crisis. I would say it was Clinton's poor policies that lead to the attack happening during Bush's term.

To bring this back to topic, I think Trump will start to lag, since he will not have specific foriegn policy talking points. He is not a polished candidate like the others. The closer we get to the finish line, the more the voters want that flashy, polished candidate, no matter how much they say they dont want a politician!

This debate may be the turning point for Trump.  Those who are disillusioned by the established politicians now have an alternative - Fiorina, Carson (although he didn't do well in the debate).

I think Trump's only future problem "might" be who he would select for his VP. A wrong choice there, could cost him the election.

Just about every pundit rated Trump's performance as average or worse.  None thought he did well.   Whereas everyone else appears to come with better debate plan/strategy than the 1st debate, Trump stuck to his same broad brush rhetoric and threw more insults.   I don't think he gained new supporters.   If anything, he may have lost some of his supporters to Fiorina, Bush, and others.

In 2nd half hour of debate, Trump was less present.  I think it was b/c he didn't have enough subject knowledge to jump into the foray.

And the pundits (experts) are always right? Don't think so. Most experts on anything are usually biased, and in agreement with their handlers.

Let's see - the Republican party has a lineup consisting of:

A successful businessman, a successful businesswoman, a black neurosurgeon, a young latino, a senator with Cuban heritage, a governor who is the son of Indian immigrants, a libertarian eye doctor, and several governors and senators, all with current and past experience

The Democratic lineup?  - two old white socialists

Amazing how the media tries to sell us the image of how Democrats are the "party of the people" while Republicans are "rich old white men".

Fox channel repeatedly asked numerous analysts & pundits.  So did MSNBC, CNN.    By my count, at least over 20 and they all gave Trump average to low marks.  One guy said Trump held his own.    I think people who liked Trump's performance were those who are die hard fans of Trump.

Part of his poor performance I thought was due to how CNN moderated the show debate.   Out of the gate, CNN put Trump on the spot and Trump & others obliged. Contrast to Trump's answers, Rubio's answers on the same foreign policy question was so much better.   Fiorina's answer on "persona" question and Trump's stupid counter answer (you are beautiful) made Trump look like an idiot. @Patch , you may not have seen the "persona" exchange if you didn't see the 2nd half of the debate.   Trump was worse in the 2nd half and the exchange may have moved some Trump votes to Fiorina.

That is like saying it is not the cowboy's defense fault the Giants scored!
it is the Cowboys Offense fault they did not stay on the field long enough.

This is tired rhetoric. it is not Bush's fault, Clinton should have dealt with it. Forget that Bush I didnt get rid of the Taliban & Reagan armed them!!!

You mean when bush increased the size of the govt by creating the Dept of Homeland Security. expanding and Growing the govt is a key conservative issue.

Then he also got the patriot act passed, which is a wonderful violation of out civil liberties and constitutional rights.

But yes 4 attacks under Obama, 12 under Bush (not counting 9/11) and we are "less safe" under Obama thanks to Bush's implemented security measures.

You cant have it both ways!

This debate may be the turning point for Trump.  Those who are disillusioned by the established politicians now have an alternative - Fiorina, Carson (although he didn't do well in the debate).

I still dont get how Fiorina is up there? What does she bring to the table that differs from the rest of the them with exception of her gender?

I agree with Trump that she did not run HP effectively.

What does she offer that we could not get from Carson or Trump?

In this regard Trump is a better business person, Carson is smarter.

Umm, your analogy doesn't make sense. Teams can win football games with or with out leading the time of possession.

9/11- clintons fault

9/11- not bush's fault

Bush-kept us safe

Obama- kept us unsafe

Clinton- Didnt stop 9/11

Bush-9/11 & 12 over seas attack

Obama- no attacks on our soil, 4 over sea attacks.

you said " Also, maybe because of the stuff Bush implemented after 9/11 to make sure that another attack on American Soil hasn't taken place. Policy carries over from president to president."

Yet both candidates and the crowd all agreed that Obama has made us unsafe. So is it Obama making us unsafe, or has bushs policies kept us safe?

Either way when you are POTUS, it is your watch and what ever happens on that watch is yours!

But none of this will happen under trump dictatorship!

I don't like her or her qualifications.   But, damn, she was quick on her feet in debate, looked professional/presidential, very eloquent with her speeches, and came across very smart - exact opposite to Trump who have a vocabulary range and mental maturity of a 13 year old.   Trump tangled with a wrong candidate when he let out the famous "look at that face" comment.   Trump is in Fiorina's direct line of fire and will run circles around him for months to come.

Trump's rhetoric is starting to repeat.   I think people are tired of the same lines he is reciting.

I never said 9/11 was Clinton's fault. I said it could have happened under Clinton or any other president. No one at that time was expecting such a methodical terrorist attack at the time.

I never said Bush kept us safe. I am saying that laying blame for him on the attacks against our Diplomatic Facilities is a bit too much because it's very fricken hard to protect them with out the help of the country you are in. Pakistan is not really a friendly country to us. What do you want us to do in Pakistan, move half our military in. There isn't enough space there for them. Pakistan isn't going to let the US Military walk around their country.

You bring up these numbers like they mean something. They don't. There is no correlation to safety and these numbers, other than the fact that acts of violence has happened against our facilities. The only way you can do that is by actually telling me what Bush actually did to help promote these events? What did Bush do to promote 9/11? What could have he done to stop it? Did anyone know it was going to happen? If not then you can't put blame on Bush for 9/11 because there was nothing he could have done about it.

How can you stop a plane from going into a fricken building if you knew nothing about it before hand? That's like saying you could have stopped a car from T-Boning your car even when you didn't see the damn car coming. Think about that logic before you start bashing a president just because something happened. How about thinking first before laying blame.

Trump wouldn't see a barn if it was right in front of his face.

A plane with Jeb Bush, Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton & Bernie Sanders is about to crash, but has only 3 parachutes. The first passenger yells, "I'm Jeb Bush, let the big dog eat! I can't afford to die." he took the first parachute and jumped. The 2nd passenger, Donald Trump runs screaming, "I'm the smartest man in the world & the next President of America. He grabbed the second parachute and jumped. The 3rd passenger, Hillary Clinton, says to Bernie Sanders "Take the last parachute." Bernie says, "It's ok Hillary, there is a parachute for both of us. The world's smartest man just took my backpack."

Trump wouldn't see a barn if it was right in front of his face.

Classic example: CNN starts with "would other candidates trust Trump with his finger on nuclear bomb button" question.   Couple of candidates take a crack at it and the CNN mod gives the mike to Trump for rebuttal.   What does Trump do?  Rather than coming back with a solid answer, he attacks Rand Paul as "one percenter" who shouldn't have been invited to the debate.   Rand then gets the mike and tells the world that Trump is so "junior high."   My guess is that Trump didn't like Rand Paul's attack on him from the 1st debate and couldn't get back at him soon enough.  Why people think this guy is smart, and smart enough to run the US is beyond me.

Still not buying that Obama's "failures" have much of anything to do with Trumps popularity.  Many, if not all, of the rest of the Republican clan also have polar opposite views of Obama but they're not getting the same buzz - why not?

Republicans created Trump, just like they created the Tea Party. The establishment republicans don't have the confidence of a significant portion of the constituency.
