Actually playing with a dizzy head and not even being able to stand up is a much bigger accomplishment than a slightly hurt leg. I would give the vote to Day based on that. I'd much rather play with a sore leg than totally dizzy and not able to stand on my feet.....Day all the way

I mean, if you feel that Day has more of a case, that's fine; vertigo is no joke, and I can attest from playing through concussions in football that any fuzziness at all while playing sports makes it much harder. But to pretend that Tiger wasn't severely injured is pretty dishonest.

Steve Williams made some interesting comments about Tiger winning with a broken leg.  He had a broken leg and won the US Open.  I don't think it is possible to win a pga event if affected with vertigo every day of the tournament.  One might escape with a good score if only a few holes were played while experiencing vertigo.  I have played golf while having vertigo and it is very tough.  The advantage that I have is that I'm not playing against the best in the world and I am riding a cart.  Walking at Chambers Bay is a tough go when in good health.

Hate to state the obvious, but obviously Tiger winning the U.S. Open on a broken leg is obviously more impressive than Jason Day not winning the U.S. Open with vertigo. It would have been pretty effing impressive if he had and the conversation would be far more interesting, but he didn't. Full stop.

The fact that after one of the best starts to a season in golf history (4 out of 6 wins with top 5s in the other 2) the fact that he then took 9 months off and had surgery probably tells us that the injury was for real.

Noone doubts it was for real. But getting around to getting an injury fixed is a lot different to playing with what the common perception of a broken leg is.

If you can walk, let alone play golf, let alone win a U.S. Open on a broken leg, it is not a broken leg beyond a technical description.

I mean, sure, you can play on it. I played football with a fractured wrist; doesn't mean it doesn't hurt like hell the whole time. Also, if the broken leg doesn't satisfy, the completly gone ACL more than puts his case over the top.
