I am! Day off from my second job, perfect timing.

Really loving it so far. The Spieth/Reed pairing looks really, really good.

Putting the difference so far.

Pieters looks really nervous, I think dj and kuch might run away with that match.

Reed and spieth looking sharp.

ZJ and Walker not so much.

Perhaps the morning matches will come down to Michelson/Fowler and Rory/Sullivan

Pieters looks like he's about to pee his pants. Someone needs to tell him that the reason Europe is so good is because they're usually the looser of the two teams.

This is the 1st time in a while i've actually felt you yanks have got the edge. Dont get me wrong, the teams have always been well matched, but europe has always seemed a little stronger to me.

We lack in the experience department this time round, sure there are some good golfers in the squad, but thr Ryder Cup is a very different beast compared to your average tournament.

You never know, Sullivan and Fitzpatrick might play their socks off for a win. fingers crossed.

Kudos for spelling.  You know, though, that there are a ton of people confused by your post and going "huh?  Europe is usually the winner of the two teams."

Did Europe always seem a little stronger to you, prior to 1985 ?

I was only 5 years old in '85 so i' couldnt tell you :-D

I think for me, when europe have lost, its been a case of "on paper the team looked very strong". Problem is, whats on paper sometimes doesnt translate to the course.

We have quite a few rookies in the squad but that just has to happen at times. The old hands have to move on and the new blood has to take over.

Whoo boy, that Tiger commercial got me fired up! I'm glad he's a part of the Ryder Cup team. I think he's been a good addition to the brain trust.

Things are going about as well as the Americans could have hoped for so far. Up in three matches, and only 1-down in the weakest pairing.

I don't think split-screen commercials work for golf as they may in other sports.

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

Driver: '07 Burner 9.5° (stiff graphite shaft)
Woods: SasQuatch 17° 4-Wood (stiff graphite shaft)
Hybrid: 4DX Ironwood 20° (stiff graphite shaft)Irons/Wedges: Apex Edge 3-PW, GW, SW (stiff shaft); Carnoustie 60° LWPutter: Rossa AGSI+ Corzina...

This is irresistible from the Americans. We'll be lucky to go into the Fourballs just 3-1 down at this rate.

Old Man Mickelson has to request the "large print" edition of the Hazeltine yardage book. Do those maps also show him where the nearest Cracker Barrels are?

Split screen commercials work fine for me.Is it messing up your favorite commercials?

    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲

    • Why wouldn't it have? It's not like you were playing it as a 145yd par 5 and made a 2 or something.  Or not like it was playing 50yds to a temporary green or something either.
