A lot of guys had some bad breaks. If everyone's bad breaks turned into good breaks and everyone's lip outs went in, then Tiger would still be in the same position he's in....the middle of the pack. Just accept the fact he's playing better, but still has a lot of work to do.

I'm pretty sure that was my point.

Well that sucks for Robert Streb. Broke his putter on twelve, and is just one off the lead.

Didn't see it - my sympathy depends on how he broke his putter... Pretty sure he won't be getting that sympathy!

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

What's in the bag: Callaway X2 Hot Driver, Titleist 915F 3 wood, X2 Hot 3 Hybrid, 3, 5-AW Apex Pro irons, 54*, 58* Cleveland RTX, Odyssey Versa 1 Putter

No, your point is it's about Tiger Woods and only Tiger Woods. In case you didn't notice, there are other guys playing, too....219 of them who are ranked better than him (well, maybe not all 219 playing this week).

Nothing against Tiger Woods because I'm rooting for him to return to form like everyone else, but I just get irked sometimes when people think he's the only one out there and no one else...or as if he gets bad breaks and everyone else gets good ones.

Yes, how did Streb break his putter?

They said he just nonchalantly tossed it towards his bag and it broke. Anyways, he's tied for the lead.

Sand/gap wedge.

Made a couple of birdie putts too - quite impressive, really.

Quite a story!! Streb broke his putter throwing it to his caddie on the 9th hole, I heard. On the back nine, he has birdied 4 holes without a putter and is tied for the lead.

Sorry if this is a stupid question - but what's he putting with?

Sand/gap wedge.

Yeah, I was a little confused with that at first. The commentators said he was using a 52* wedge. Then others were saying his sand wedge. My sand wedge is 56* At any rate it sure not a putter.

And illustrates how relatively easy putting is ;-)

He just said it was a 56.

You'd be amazed how hard I make it look...

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
