There is a tournament every year in Tampa that is invite only. They have tents set up on every tee box with topless girls serving booze. Its a hell of an event.

They do make it discreet and the only real evidence of whats going on in those tents is the drunk golfers leaving them.

This is one of my most hated whines that the prudish crowd loves to trot out. No one cares that you don't know how to to talk to your kid.

Seriously.  My conversation would go something like this:

6 yr old Son or 4 yr old daughter:  "What are those people doing over there?"

Me: "They're dancing together and the girl isn't wearing any clothes."

Son:  "I know, I can see her silly things"  (That's what he calls boobs)

everybody:  [uncontrollable laughter] followed by "Hey, lets go down the slide again."

Life goes on.

Regardless of my level of comfort talking to my kids about these things I think it's pretty ridiculous to act like it's perfectly fine to have kids be within viewing distance of strippers. As I've said, I don't have a problem with the outing, but it certainly shouldn't be happening somewhere kids can see it.

Nah the typical episode of Law and Order is more graphic mostly clothes strippers a hundred yards away. Kids are on the net looking at crazy stuff. When I was a kid we had a huge stash of porn mags. It wasn't anything we hadn't seen before, some were really gnarly, not Playboy that's for sure. Girls were just as bad.

Poor taste to have nudity in public view but I think some skimpy outfits would've been fine with an after party back at the club to handle all other needs. The open beer thing is a bunch of whining about nothing. It's not like the average teenager is stalking golf courses looking for beer to steal. If I had a 16 year old out with his buddies playing golf and he ran into that party and managed to swipe a beer or two with his friends I wouldn't be outraged anyway. I'd probably just say you shouldn't do that but know in the back of my head that is the most normal thing a kid can do.

We aren't talking about adolescent kids, we are talking elementary aged or younger. If the strippers were mostly clothed that would change my stance a bit. I was going by the comment from Golfingdad "They're dancing together and the girl isn't wearing any clothes." I just find it hard to believe anyone would be so nonchalant about a young child seeing these things. I mean, I'm far from prudish, but some things are just not right. Have the outing somewhere that's not near a housing development and playground or at least restrict the nudity and such to the more secluded sections of the course. Or have tents where they can do their dancing and such as mentioned happens in other similar outings.

I think kids today, have much more access to porn via, smart phone, tablets, and computers ... I just don't see this has big deal. I much rather my 10yr grandson see that, than the other events that occurring in the world that they also have access to see ...

It's worth noting that the beer was on property, surrounded by a fence, that only those who had paid for admission had the right to access. I've also never heard of a statute requiring that beer be "attended", whether in the Midwest, or elsewhere. Heck, I've seen the exact same set up at golf events dozens of times in So Cal....

I've seen beer setup along a couple courses in Texas and thought that was kind of unique, but I guess not. . .

Where do you get your information?

I don't know, but I do know that it's illegal to drink in a public place or where it is within plain sight of a public place in most cities around LA.

Um, not in my experience, not on a golf course when that course has an extended liquor license to cover the entire property.  Otherwise the beverage cart would be as extinct as the dodo bird.

Well, the street.

Sports stadiums are exempted, and a couple other places as well. Defintely golf courses, but it seems like drinking along a street side hole there might be some other ordinances that could be broken.

"Public places" in this context refers to openly public places such as sidewalks, parks and vehicles. It does not include nominally private spaces which are open to the public, such as bars, restaurants and stadiums.

This is highly irregular. Gentlemen you'll have to excuse the golf course operator. He's new to his post and anxious to please. Please excuse this error in judgement.

First we'll have the golf outing, THEN we'll have the *****s. Like always.

Admittedly I haven't watched the video. In general I don't have a problem with outings like this. However, I just don't think it's appropriate to have it in view of a playground mostly. Seems like an easy enough thing to rectify and I don't think it is unreasonable to expect them to know it's the right thing.

I watched, and although there is no nudity, there are a lot of suggestive images. It's not appropriate for them to force their lifestyles by displaying them in public places where people who object to it could be present. Also, they should restrict it from any courses that are surrounded by homes.

If it were held at a private club, that's fine by me.

Meh, whatever.

My son thinks naked people are hilarious.  Whats so wrong about him seeing them?  His favorite commercial when it first started was the one for that stupid show on VH1 called "Dating Naked" because it showed butts.

Now, I'm not saying that I'd take him to a strip club or something ridiculous like that, but if we happened to be in the park and saw a naked lady dancing around a man, we'd probably both find it funny and be excited to go home and tell mommy we saw boobies.  I certainly wouldn't make a giant stink about it.
