What'd You Shoot Today?

Recommended Posts

Just played 9 today. Shot a 39. I was happy with my game today.

And my gf made her first chip in too!

Gordon Lakes in Augusta...my new home course.....played the Island View & Lake View and shot 44 & 49 (shouldn't have bought the two tall boy Bud Lights at the turn ).

Driving was fair.....putting was fair.....chipping and pitching was solid. Topped three shots on two consecutive holes on the back trying to kkkkkill it. Settled down and finished out okay.

Guys in my foursome shot 87, 79 and 77. I hope I didn't hold them up too bad. Super nice guys....really fun to play with and watch. They could do a 3-man best ball team and rule!!!!

Shot an (estimated) 113... ditched work a bit early to get to the course by 3pm for twilight rates. Got in 17 holes, though picked up on a couple. The first was after an OB drive, followed by about 3 failed attempts to get out of the sand.

The second pick-up was a little more interesting... second shot was on a bank with the ball about knee-height. Set up, swung, and watched two things happen: 1) the ball fly about 40 yards right into the fence by the next tee; 2) the club head fly about 45 yards to the left to the bottom of the hill. Glad nobody was standing there! First broken club... bummer is that my 5I was about my smoothest iron. Oh well. Was too flustered, so just picked up on that one. Probably could have salvaged a double-bogey or so I guess.

Overall score should have been better, but was hitting everything fat. On the second to last hole we played, I may have figured something out that fixed it, so now I need to go again. Isn't that how it always works. Just have to learn to hit my 4I or my 6I now. Argh!

This is a beaut. Played a course I'd never played before in SC. Shot 79. I hit only FOUR greens in reg with 27 putts. Holy cow! Driving avg: 300 (I only hit driver once and got all of it). Love my three wood on the narrow courses.

I know I am new here, but trust me - I am stoked about this round. It is my first sub 80 round after quite a few "80" in the last two years. It was a short and easy course (68.8/115) but we tend to choose easier courses in the fall.

I shot -2 on the front with 3 birdies and one bogey (first under par nine). I was really in a smooth tempo zone. I was nervous on the 10th after the great front nine. I hit a good drive (par 5) but decided to play it smart and lay up. My second left me a perfect gap wedge (100 yards) but was in a deep divot in the middle of the fairway I had no idea how it would come out and decided to hit a half PW and it flew long and left out of the divot. A double bogey on 10 had me reeling and I lost it for a few holes. I did par 3 of last 4 including a good up and down on 18

Lol 83 for me, on a tricky course, I shot 43 on the back, come in way bummed, Birdie 1, then go bogey bogey bogey par bogey par par(couldn't get up and down after i hit my second shot to like 20 yards on a par 5) Bogey

shot 80 yesterday. 43-37. missed about 4 or 5 3 footers and hit 1 in the water. it stunk and my irons were good but my long game was really bad

Yes, it's a poop score but I haven't played much this year due to economics, but I hit the ball well, just scored poorly. That's Golf, good days, and poopy days..

Eventually, I'll get the hint and stop advertising, which is against the rules.

shot a 43 yesterday on 9, not too bad considering i came out and shot a triple bogey followed by a double bogey on the first two holes. settled down to par 5 of the last 6 holes. missed a 3 footer for birdie and had two birdie chips lip out.

so even though the score is kinda ugly i started striking the ball well and i think i have my chipping game under control so i have a good foundation to build on

looking forward to the next round!

87 today
43 on the front & 44 on the back. Missed 3 birdie putts 3 foot or less (Argh) But made a couple of great shots on the back. Was playin a match play format with a co-worker of mine . I was getting 4 strokes on the front and the same on the back. Lost the match on the last hole but playing with this fellow is a lot of fun for both of us. Cost me a hot dog & a pop

82, ugh but the course was tough, like 10 par 4s over 430. It was nuts! 82 with 2 birdies is really something for me to complain about, should be in the 75 range now, I hooked like 4 drivers and 3 fw woods.

Great round! I've said for years that 80 is probably the most frustrating score in golf. I'm glad you were able to break through the wall.

On Saturday, I carded a 79 at Purgatory Golf Course in Noblesville, IN. The course was set up at 7250 yards, 76.1/137. After going 42 on the front, I got paired up with one of the assistant pros on the back 9. Having someone tell you where to aim and help with course strategy helped immensely...came in with a 37.

89 (45-44) at Dyker Beach. 1 Birdie, 4 Pars, 7 Bogeys, the rest doubles. Always good to keep the 7's off your card. Had a 276 yard drive too, always good to get those guys.

Played on the weekend, saturday shot 77

2 birdies, 2 double, 6 bogeys

Overall satisfied with it, I have not been playing much I showed a lot of rust.

Shot a 79, but that was with mulligans off the tee box. still lowest score to date even if it wasn't a true 79. would of most likely ended up around 85 86 if no mulligans

Played in the Kelly Cup (Fernley vs Fallon) this past weekend. Our team (Fernley) tied for the Cup at 28 points a piece, but that meant Fallon retained the cup. I went 3-0. I paired with the head pro for nine holes of Modified Scotch (Alternate shot with both players teeing off then alternating from the better ball from there) and Better Ball.

Won my singles match 1 up after a crazy round that turns out to be a 75 (all concessions were within a foot...). Be sure to check out the scorecard on this one. It was a roller coaster of a day to say the least.

Side note that the head pro said I was swaying (with ALL clubs no less...) so that is something I will be working on this winter. Looking forward to working on it!
