What'd You Shoot Today?

Recommended Posts

Everytime I stepped on the tee today I keep waiting to hear my mother yell, "What are you thinking...Get in this house". Which is funny because it's been 30 plus years since I heard that. Temp 40 at best, wind from he W-SW at 15 gusting to 20 an 8 on the first hole with a ball in he creek, and every green hit was a ball off the back after bouncing 15 feet in the air(frozen solid) So I guess a 92 wasn't bad with 7 pars. Can't wait to go to Florida and play the right way, without being bundled up for a Yukon Expedition.

Shot a 98 today, 45-50 degrees, windy . . . seems like a day on the course is a great day indeed. Hit my driver well today, shitted up the short shots. I need to really work on my short game.

Played my second round of the year today! Shot 78 . Front 9 was a struggle for the first 6 holes. Finished the front at +4 (40). Birdied #10 and #16, had four bogeys +2 (38).

83 from the Blues today. 44-39. Started with a triple on #1, followed with 5 pars and then after a perfect drive took a double on 7 that I let turn into a double on 8 as well. At least I shook it off on the back! :D

42 @ noon tee w/ 15-20 wind. Played 27 form the blues. 47 on the 3rd nine, I was getting tired...... :D :D But i't JANUARY 3rd and I have 45 holes on the books!!!! :D :D :D

I've spent most of my life golfing - the rest I've just wasted.

55 through nine .

I was 27 through 5, having played two par 5's (effectively playing bogey golf) on one the toughest longest courses i've played and the ground was frozen solid, its been below freezing for most of the week.

Then the last 4 holes completely blew up, driving fine, long approach shots fine, around and on the green was dreadful, the frozen ground wasn't helping, putting on frozen greens was an education but chipping on frozen ground was a nightmare .

shot 75 today, 1/4/09 played at 7:30 am with frost on the ground and the temperature was about 40 degrees.

37 front (3 boogies and 2 birdies)
38 back (2 boogies)

9 fairways out of 14 hit
7 greens out of 18 hit
27 putts
(13 front)
(14 back)
5 out of 10 up and downs

In summary my short game feels better but needs more practice. My approach shots were great taking more club and hitting a 3/4 swing for more control swing.

72 today [par 61]

39 front [par 31] - 20, yes 20, putts. UGLY
33 back [par 30] - 12 putts, 6 one putts. very good for me here.

2 birdies on the back side today. first time ever that I've had 2 birdies in a round much less one side.

didn't even pull out a wood. [the course is really short] I think the longest hole played about 290 today. Had a couple of 225+ yd 3-irons, which is huge for me and one of a couple positives from the day amidst all the bad putting on the front nine and erratic irons.

8/18 greens............
4/7 fairways...........lots of par 3's on the course [that I didn't hit in reg]
5/9 up and down.........only 1 for par, the rest for bogey

played 18 (in 3 hours) and finished the last hole in the dusk. shot 80 and only made 1 putt (but it was for birdie!).

I was actually pretty happy because I hit some good short irons.

Yesterday I have the chance to do the round of my life. Fisrt nine holes sucked, I shot 43, eventhough I was swinging well some silly errors left me with the 3 double bogeys, good thing of the round two birdies and one in the 240 yards par 3, which I think I have never made a birdie in there.

Second nine were awesome. At 15 hole I was -2, but in 16 my mind start working and just screw all the score. I made triple bogey in 16, double in 17 and par in 18, for a final 82 (+10)... T____T

G.I.R. - 61%
Putts - 32

Went out for a 2 vs 2 scramble last week. Myself and another 20 hdcp managed to shoot a 77 on 16 holes. We had to stop due to it almost being dark, but man did we ever play awesome. It was almost hard deciding which shots to take and whenever one of us would go bad, other would more than make up for it. 14 and 15 were both pretty easy par 5's and we went out birdie on 14. Then on 15, my 3rd hit the flagstick and dropped a foot away. Needless to say, I was pretty damn excited at a round like that.

Played today a humorous round with some buddies, it was 45 degrees and raining, not pouring, but get your grips wet raining. Tee'd off at 10, and could not get around on my drives and was drop-kicking them all about 240. But they were straight, so after a +3 start for 3 holes, I par'd 4 straight followed by a birdie. We ended up skipping two holes that were out of the way, so I can only guess what the 18 hole would have been, but low 80's would be my guess. I was hitting everything about 15 yards short of what I normally hit. The happy part of my game today was my work with my 60 degree, my favorite club in my bag, saved me a lot of pars from 10-15 yards short of green =) Even in the light rain, the fairways drain well and they dont feel like your walking in mud all day, so it was definently better than sittin at home.

played 13 holes today before I lost all the balls I brought [yea, it was one of *those* days]. I'll leave the back 4 holes out of this as they were as bad as the front 9.

shot 45 [par 35]

2/9 fairways
3/9 greens
20 putts

birdie'd the 1st hole, 5 putted the 3rd hole. It was a GREAT day!
