What'd You Shoot Today?

Recommended Posts

48 on the back 9
not a great score because my chipping/wedges were way off today
I was happy with my irons though and my driving was good on all but 2 of the holes requiring a driver
putting was meh, one 3 putt the rest 2 putts

+12 on an extremely windy day, not a great round, but a lot of fun. I hit two par 5's in 2 (with a 5 iron and 3 iron), so I'm jazzed about that.

+3 or 75 at Arbor Links in Nebraska City, Ne. on Monday.
Greens were rolling great and made a few putts. 2 bad doubles or it could have been very good.

In my FT bag I have:
D3 9.5
XHot 15D 3W
Rescue Hybrids 22 and 17 degree
Apex Edge 5-E 52, 56 and 60 ProV1X

+3 on nine. Putting started off rough, striking was great. Finished the last 6 holes at -1 with a couple of tap-ins for birds. Found every fairway and 8/9 greens.

+4 on nine today. Putting is coming around slowly, but the head needs some custom shop re-work to get the weight right. Stringing together 7-hole runs at par or better, but can't keep the nasties off my card yet. Driving the ball a ton, two holes running parallel, one with the breeze at 315 on the GPS, the other into the breeze at 285 for a nice average carry+roll. Converted 1-birdie out of 4 inside 10 feet. Not great. Approach shots and putting need to get sharp on the holes I'm shooting par on. Course management needs to improve on the others. Just the start of the season here though :)

I didn't play today however I did play about 12 days ago. I played a course called Soldier Hollow Gold Course. It is where the 2012 US Amateur will be played. I went with a couple of buddies of mine and we played from the Tips. The course is 7600 yards long and I shot an 85. I would have shot better however the greens were just sanded a few days prior and so it was tought to get a feel for the greens

Got to manage a nice 34 on a nearby 9-hole-par33 course. -2 on #5, -1 on the last hole (200yd par3) and only made double there *grml*

It didn't start off too well (triple bogey 7 on the 1st hole ) but I was able to pull it together and finished the front 9 in 42. Back 9 was almost as good - with a 44. Doesn't happen every time out but it always feels good to break 90!!

Shot an 80 last friday. Drove the ball terribly (maybe 4 FIR's), but made some 10'+ putts to save par. Still looking for my first sub 80 round!!

Maybe this weekend!! =D

88 (42/46) @ Centennial. I completely imploded on 17, from tee box to the cup. Had a little trouble with my 7W on the front 9, but it's still my best club. Funny sidenote: My wife went with me and fell down in a sprinkler puddle on # 10. She didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did.

We'll today was our club championship and needless to say I played aweful. It is hard to believe that a 5hdcp could even shoot a 95 but I did . There is alot of difference playing in tournaments then playing for fun.

-1 on the worst golf course I've ever played. We embraced the suckitude of the course, though, and had fun.

Ashamed to say this:

104 on a par 72

Been playing 93, give or take a couple of strokes, for a consistent few weeks. Today shot a 50 on the front and 54 on the back, something I haven't done in a few years. Three pars on the back nine, and only 30 putts on the day, but my tee shots were all over the place today, and several 7 and 8 scores found their way onto my card.

Bloody ashamed of myself.

Goal going into this season was to break 90. Have done this several time, including tdoay when I shot an 88.

84 (41/43) @ Rarity Pointe. Double Bogey was the worst of any hole, but I didn't cash in on 3 birdie opportunities, either. Weather: 78 deg. + No wind + No clouds = Perfect.
