The ball flight does, but it doesn't look like the hosel gets that close to the ball. Don't have a 240fps version, this is the only speed available.

 

Looks like a push fade.

Looks like a push-fade to me. I dunno where they find these guys, that wasn't even remotely close to being a shank. Is that from @PEZGolf's magazine?

Now I'm doubting myself. Maybe it's a shank of the very in to out variety. I throw up my arms. I would be much more certain if it was shot in 240fps.

From what I see, the ball starts reasonably close to online and then curves right. That leads me to believe the ball was struck by the face and not the hosel. When I hit a shank, there is NO question because the ball takes off at nearly a 45* angle. 

If that ball had curved left (and been struck cleaner) it would have been a nice push-draw...I think...

Yeah, I've hit plenty of shanks and they start way way more right than that. The camera low to the ground distorts the flight as well.

The ball looks to start straight then slice. I don't think its a shank.

I got very lucky on this pause,

That is not a shank. That is a strike on the toe. Here's what it looks like to me. The path is very out to in. The strike is on the toe, which causes the face to twist open even more. Still the face is relatively square to the target line. The ball starts straight-ish to just right of the target and slices right. 

To me I would say it's a pull slice, but the ball happen to hit the toe so the ball started right of target instead of on target or slightly left of target. 

It's not a shank. A shank is a strike on the hosel.  A shank trajector is more inline with the red dots I drawn on the image below. If you really strike it good maybe a tad higher and more right. Shanks typically do not start anywhere remotely straight at target.

Excellent work with the vids. That is definitely not a shank. I've had inside hits that grazed the hosel look similar to that ball flight, but that's definitely not even one of those. Thanks guys.

No way. I had the shanks for a month and I can say will 100% certainty that is not one.

Why do I only see the full image on some of these embeds when I quote?

Curve looks more like an out and out push slice to me. Could fat toe-side contact have opened the face a ton?

      Thanks but honestly… I don't know any other way. I don't mind being wrong so long as I know where to go from there. I don't like being wrong — I'd love to get things right (which is different than "being right"). I recommend grabbing a furniture slider or a paper plate or something, and doing something like this: First, make a swing where you let your trail foot swing out as you turn, then twist that foot back in. From DL and FO, it'll look like this: Then, during a regular backswing, try to twist your foot in slightly (demonstrated in the left image): You'll notice a crease along the trail side of your hip, your pelvis will "fold" into that thigh (internal rotation of the hip joint), and your "bits" will be squished a little between your pelvis and your thigh. Ben Hogan said once: "At the top of the back swing the groin muscle on the inside of your rt [sic] leg near your right nut will tighten," Hogan wrote. "This subtle feeling of tightness there tells you that you have made the correct move back from the ball." I don't know about that, but you will probably feel something down around that area.

      Yep. I think it will start to feel even more athletic when we start on the downswing stuff later.  I know, it's just I want to be younger so I have more time to enjoy the changes. 🙂

Like others, I was fooled a little by 2D images for awhile (moving or still). Unlike others, I've learned and grown and moved on since then, while they're still looking at their images (often from lousy camera angles).
