"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge August 2016

[No Mulligans]

Worked on putting tempo with a metronome set to triplets and 60bpm... tick tock tock  tick tock tock... start on the first tick, finish backswing on the second tock, contact ball on the 2nd tick.

Also played 18 holes this morning.

8/3:  shoulder stretches/exercises; more 4-8 ft putts.  It feels good to consistently sink them from 6+ ft, at least indoors.

8/3/2016:

About 15 minutes of putting practice this evening. 3-8 foot putts mostly. Scattered balls around the hole in various locations and just spent time focusing on a good line with each shot.

8/4/16:

Worked on some putting playing a game called "KILLER"

Just 5 minutes of mirror work before my workout. I have a little soreness in my left elbow, so I took it easy.

8/04 - played today best round of my life 77 (40/37). I give all the credit to LSW & this 5 mins daily challenge.

8/4/2016:

Raining outside, so just 5-10 minutes of short putts on the carpet in the hallway and a few minutes of mirror-work checking the hip turn/sway, and trying to focus on the feel at the top of the backswing after a proper turn with good tilt.

Practiced for 30 minutes with mat and net.  Worked on making a full turn and maintaining downswing synchronization.

8/4:  rain washed out plans for hitting a bucket of balls this afternoon; more putting practice indoors.  I think I realized that my grip pressure was too much, causing some shakiness on the takeaway.

Range trip tomorrow, if the weather cooperates.

Worked on my transition for about 5 minutes this morning in the mirror. Just making sure I hold my wrist angle longer.

Nothing yesterday. My left elbow is sore for some reason, so I am giving it a rest for a couple of days.

8/6/2016:

Spent about 15 minutes outside rehearsing slow backswings a few times and then taking an easy swing-full shot with my lob wedge. Focusing on Key #1 mainly, and stopping at the top to feel turn in my hips and check for sway to the right.

Putter: OK

I really chipped and pitched OK. Except on Number 12....I hit a great drive... I even hit a great 4-wood second shot... I tried to get a 20 yard pitch too perfect... with a semi-holeable eagle pitch... Skulled it onto the senior tee on Number 13. Up against the rough... No green to work with... Needless to say I didn't get enough of it... I ended up turning a certain par into a double when if I played sort of safe... I probably make birdie. I just stink right now at times. I shot 39 last Sunday I couldn't replicate it... I'm having trouble even hitting irons straight. WTH????

8/7/2016:

Mirror work w/ "wall drill", focusing on hip turn. Then 10-20 minutes of slow backswings and easy through-swings outside with same focus. Then a few full shots just for fun. :)
