GAME GOLF Live is now just $199 worldwide!

The Sand Trap's 2016 Partner GAME GOLF has just announced a worldwide* price reduction to $199. Now's a great time to pick up a GAME GOLF Live device, even if you don't always use the Live features, the Live offers a better GPS with longer battery life.

* Worldwide currency fluctuations may result in prices that vary slightly from $199 USD, but they'll be close. And this is my language, not GG's. :-)

Remember, too, to post in our prediction contest in the next day or two!

Thanks!

I just may have to break down and buy it.

I think you'll find it quite convenient compared to the phone apps.

I hope to win the Ryder Cup competition.

But that's an autographed GAME GOLF. You wouldn't want to take that out onto the golf course.

Serious question....how does this app differ from the many others out there?   I currently use golfshot that I purchased for $30 back in 2012 and I have had zero issues with the stat tracking, gps, and the wide variety of courses that the app offers.   What is the value for a price tag of $199 usd?

For one thing… it's automatic. Tap, tag, done.

The CEO and the CFO of the house are in negotiations; the CEO can insist but the CFO is always quick to bring up opportunity costs.

In the end I look forward to the tap, tag and swing.

@elementz: I also use Golfshot.  I use it on the course as I'm playing and for keeping my score (I've had it longer than I've had GameGolf, with more rounds on it, so I keep using it), and I like it. For stats, it does one thing better than GG (that I've found): It separates putts/GIR from overall putts/hole.

But for overall game and club information, I think GG does better.  As examples (from my GG info):

You can see how you do with a particular club:

7iron.png

You can see how you do from a distance (by grouped distances range; in this example, 125-150 yards):

approach distanc.png

You can see how you do compared with others of various handicaps.  Here, vs 20 handicappers:

Strokesgained20.png

Here, vs 15 handicappers:

strokesgained15.png

And you can adjust these to look at the last round only, last 3 rounds, 5, 10, etc.  Or just specific rounds (selected individually--one or multiple rounds).  You can look at club performance (distances) for each club in your bag--overall, sorted by lie types (tee, fairway, bunker, other), and sorted by which rounds to include.

In summary, it gives a lot more information.  I think it's worth looking at.  What I did was download the app to my phone, sign up for a (free) account, and I used it for a couple rounds at my local executive course.  Using the free app alone took a bit more work than using Golfshot (that's why I used it at a short course when I had time to mess around with it), but when I saw the type of information it would give (as above), I decided to go with it.  If you do it this way, be aware that using the belt unit with the club tags is much easier than using the smartphone app alone--I hardly even notice it as I play a round.  But it will give you an idea as to whether you think the paid unit will be worth the cost to you.

Just my 2 cents.

Edit:  If there's a course that isn't already in their database, they can add it.  Or if it isn't mapped correctly, they can edit it, often within just a couple of days (after you've played your round--the data's not lost).  Their customer service folks are very responsive.

I have a promo code for 50% off (technically for family and friends, so you would have declare yourself my friend :-)) that should be good until 12/31. This was part of the prize package in the drawing that took me to the PGA.

Done, and I really enjoy the device. I've played 3 games this past week, am starting to see some trends.

Good stuff!

I just ordered mine from amazon, only paid $116 with tax and free shipping. I won't get to use it until next season but that's ok

Yes I have seen the $109 price in the sidebar here a few times.-Something is awry I think.

Can you export your data from GAME GOLF-anyone?

    • First off please forgive me if this is not a proper post or not in the proper location, still learning the ropes around here. Second, it's important that I mention I am very new to the game with only about 10 rounds of golf under my belt, most being 9 holes. Only this year have I started playing 18. That being said, I am hooked, love the game and am very eager to learn and improve. To give you an idea of my skill, the last 2 18 rounds I played were 110 and 105. Not great at all, however I am slowly improving as I learn. Had been having bad slicing issues with the driver and hybrids but after playing some more and hitting the range, I've been able to improve on that quite a bit and have been hitting more straight on average. Irons have always come easier to me as far as hitting straight for some reason. Wedges have needed a lot of improvement, but I practice chipping about 20-30 mins about 3-5 times a week and that's helped a lot. Today I went to the range and started to note down some distance data, mind you I am averaging the distances based off my best guess compared to the distance markers on the range. I do not currently own a range finder or tracker. From reading some similar posts I do understand that filling gaps is ideal, but I am having a some issues figuring out those gaps and understanding which clubs to keep and remove as some gaps are minimal between clubs. Below is an image of the chart I put together showing the clubs and average distances I've been hitting and power applied. For some reason I am hitting my hybrids around the same distances and I am not sure why. Wondering if one of them should be removed. I didn't notice a huge loft difference either. The irons I have are hand me downs from my grandfather and after playing with them a bit, I feel like they're just not giving me what could potentially be there. The feel is a bit hard/harsh and underwhelming if that makes sense and I can't seem to get decent distances from them. Wondering if I should be looking to invest in some more updated irons and if those should be muscle backs or cavity backs? My knowledge here is minimal. I have never played with modern fairway woods, only the classic clubs that are actually wood and much smaller than modern clubs. I recently removed the 4 and 5 woods from my bag as I was never using them and I don't hit them very well or very far. Wondering if I should look into some more modern fairway wood options? I appreciate any feedback or advice anyone is willing to give, please forgive my lack of knowledge. I am eager to learn! Thank you.
    • I would think that 3 in a row with the same players might get some behind the scenes examination from the SCGA if they were suspect.  Are there any clubs questioning the results?
    • What simple fact? A golf match is not a coin flip — there is a fact for you. I'm trying to help you, and you're throwing out what could easily be called sour grapes. Come with FACTS, not weak analogies. Then you've got nothing. Hopefully they've done a better job of making their case. 😛
    • It's pretty close. The odds of a 50/50 shot going your way 21 times are greater than 1 in a million!  I guess your point is, that simple fact is not enough to declare these guys dirty rotten sandbaggers. I disagree, but fair enough. I posted it here on the message board to get different perspectives, after all.  I probably won't be digging further into specific scores. I have no dog in this fight beyond a generalized contempt for sandbagging. With that said, it would not surprise if a lot of clubs shared my concern and were grousing about it to the SCGA.
    • I had an article on Cam Smith pop up along with this..... Current major eligibility list for all LIV Golf players Here's a look at which majors, if any, all LIV Golf players are eligible.
