20 min Alt Sklz Trainer and driver working on inside out swing. Last swing practice session before playing with El Alemán tomorrow. 1.5 months of training since I last played with him. Hopefully, my play is the same as Tiger's yesterday!

Went and played 18 at a new course today . Shot 88, not excited about that. After the round I hit a bucket of 4-iron only shots. Gotta get that club working better. Hitting the range tomorrow if the weather allows it. Hit Em Good Yall !!

Day 3; Went to the range this "cool" morning for some alignment work, while using various clubs, and my full swing.

After warming up, l lay a couple of metal yard sticks down on the ground. One is along my heel line, and the other is just out side the ball. Both are in tune, on their own,  with my general ball landing area. I also work on my knees, hips, and shoulders being aligned with each other for normal shots. What I do is get a familiar view when looking over my left shoulder, just before I focus on a spot just in front of the ball to start my back swing. The left shoulder view I want to see is my left shoulder pointing a little left of my intended target. After each shot, I step out of my stance/alignment, and then start over.

After hitting 10-15 balls, I pick up the yard sticks, and hit more balls with out them. Takes about 45-60 minutes for me to hit 40-50 balls.

Alignment is the part of my swing that is the easiest for me to get out of whack. I find I shoot better scores when my alignment is correct for my swing.

Dec. 3: I was fitted for a new set of Mizuno JPX 900s today. Hit into a net at ProAm Golf for about a half hour while the fitter checked my lie angle and swing speed. Before it got too dark I spent about 10 minutes in the backyard hitting little chip shots with a mix of perforated and foam practice balls.

12/3 - Hit 30 balls or so working on my elbow location and trajectory. Which, for those who know me, will tell you that takes a significant amount more time than five minutes.

Went to play, but they're having a shotgun outing. Hit balls at the range. Same process as yesterday.

11/4: 10 minutes working on A3 to A4 piece from last lesson. Stay in good posture at the top, and stop standing up out of it and flattening shoulders.  But keep the good parts that have shown progress (like flatter left wrist and decent takeaway)! Ha. No problem.

Day 4; didn't do much today. Swung my Kallassy club for about 10 minutes. Then I hit a few 6i chips in the lot next door.

As I posted before the Kallassy club is a maintenance swing aid where I just want to work my body's swing muscles, and joints.

The 6i chips was done with my Hogan Apex blade. It was handy, and so were the balls, so I figured why not.  Idea was to hit a targeted landing area, and have the roll up to tree stump.

I did read a quite promising article about how to save 4-6 strokes everytime I will play . The article said anyone doing this will save strokes. Normally I don't pay any attention to "stroke saving" instruction, but this one seemed like it just might work.  What you do is as you walk off the 17th green, you just skip the 18th hole and head directly to the 19th hole. :-P

Played 18 with El Aleman. First nine was close at 41 v 44 even though I didn't hit a single fairway or green in regulation. My swing practice helped as strength training but not with inside out swing. A lot of slices off the tee and not much power due to glancing blows to the ball.

on the back nine, el alemán killed me shooting 38 to my 46 to finish 79 v 90

oh well, maybe next time

Hit about 20 balls into my net, working on my back swing more than my downswing. I also was chipping balls into my laundry basket from various distances. I made the lies on the chips as terrible as possible. Fantasy football time so that means putting, over and over and over.....etc. Hit Em Good Yall !!

12/04 - ditto. I am more of a sweeper than a digger so this has proven to be a challenge as my AoA is not as steep. I keep hitting the rod on the backswing

!2/4 Played the par 3 course near my house. I was the only one on the course and was able to practice some of my chip shots several times. Only got through five holes before it was too dark to continue. Afterwards, I went to the practice putting area where there was sufficient light to continue for another half hour.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
