Back in Texas. We'll see if Charlie Hoffman can regroup where he won last year and Patrick Reed can get back on track.

Anyone besides me miss the course they used to play this tournament on, the one with the roller coaster behind the 6th hole? I played there once and thought the course was a lot of fun.

Anybody else catch Charley Hoffman working his drop to be able to place when he was taking relief from a cart path yesterday? He marked out the nearest point of relief and his caddie started handing him the driver to mark out a club-length. He said "That's okay I'm going to drop it right here." He dropped it almost on top of the marked nearest point of relief on a clump of grass. The way the slope was, the ball would either stay on the clump of grass, roll closer to the hole, or closer to the path he was taking relief from. He was almost assured of being able to hit off the grass and not the dirt! Sure enough, he takes two drops that roll out and then gets to place on the grass. I thought it was a pretty good example of using the rules to the players advantage. That knowledge is power!

I go by Pat or Patrick. Been called a lot worse so I don't mind either.

And in 2019, maybe he'll just be able to drop it from 2" and get the lie he wanted.

Especially since he'll have to drop within 20" or so anyway.
