and regarding the alleged smaller "sweet spot" on the older, smaller heads, It is an advantage. If you missed the sweet spot, you "whiffed it". The answer....just don't "whiff" it.

The sweet spot doesn't have a size, it's a point in space, it is infinitely small. When manufacturers spout nonsense about larger sweetspots what they are really saying is they have designed the club in a way that mitigates the damage of missing the sweet spot, but the "size" of it hasn't changed, it can't change, it's a point in geometrical space. It's like saying you have increased the size of 5' to the left.

It depends on the driver. 460 cc is a measure of volume. You can get that number in many different configurations of club face height, club head depth, and width. 

Ping likes to stretch their drivers front to back to get that low and back CG. Callaway thends to have taller driver face and a shorter front to back profile.

If your don't like 460 cc drivers a few companies will make 440 or 430 cc drivers from time to time.

Titleist in particular offers a 440cc head in the D3 version of their driver.

One of the guys I golf with has a Callaway mini 1.5.   I believe it is 235 cc.  it works well for him.

      Day 4, 1/2/26.  Played 18 today;  didn't get a chance to warm up (had I known the range was closed, I'd have hit balls at home first).  Played okay, 92 with three balls in the water.  It was raining for more than half the round and I didn't quite appreciate before today just how much I benefit from roll on both drives and approach shots.  I did not adapt well to this change until about hole 15, which is something I have to figure out.

      Day 459 - 2026-01-02 Had two guys on GEARS Hybrid, so I hopped on afterward (I'm going to do this a lot more often now). So… I've signed myself up for another month of backswing work in two ways: A little more extension of the trail elbow (got into the upper 90s) Less pelvis turn (low 50s).

      Day 31 (2 Jan 26) - Usual Friday men’s group shootout - good day of shot making  as most shots were right on line to the target point.  Putter and green reads were solid with some great par saves and a really tricky birdie.
