I am rooting for Steph Curry in this event.  The very first non PGA/European tour tournament that I have ever been interested in following (except watching one Sunshine tour and one Asian tour event live) and intend to follow it online.

I am gonna take the under on 80.  I can see him breaking it in both rounds with 77to 79 each.  He has been practicing seriously  for at least a month now and probably been playing golf daily since the day after he won his NBA championship.  Would be mega impressed if he managed to break par though.

As captain of his HS golf team and with his NBA career, I doubt he will feel any pressure here.

Really good call on the sponsors exemption.  Gate revenues are gonna rise and the sponsor will undoubtedly see an increase in sales of their products if they market well.

Average score for athletes in web.com I heard was something like 89. John Smoltz shot 84 87 in his debut. He is a better player than steph.

I found an article with some betting lines on Steph available at a betting website.

Most look like pretty decent lines at a glance.  Despite the huge spread on making the cut, I think that's the one good bet.  I've got to think he makes the cut way less than 1 out of 25 times.  Probably pretty close to never.  Most folks aren't too keen on betting $25 to win $1 though.

OF COURSE his first shot would find the bottom of a cup... holder in a golf cart left!! Steph Curry went on to make a very good bogey on his first hole (#10 at TPC Stonebrae). Steph told me, "I was gods right up until they said, 'From Alameda, California...' then I couldn't feel my hands!"

So much for him not being nervous :-P

Nobody said he wouldn't be nervous. Just that he would know how to handle it better than most.

Not at all.  I gotta think if he can keep up this pace and finish below 80, that would be a huge "win."

Edited to add:  he bogeyed #2 so he's +3 through 11 now.

3 over through 11 holes, is pretty impressive.  4 bogies and 1 birdie.  Leader is 6 under so not as bad as most people make him out to be.  He should break 80 peacefully if he continues playing like this.  Can even see him scoring around 75 (par 70) and that is impressive all considered.  Doubt he would be able to make the cut but still something good for the sponsors, for his charity and for gate earnings.  Go Steph

He made another birdie, on hole 3, so now he's back to +2, and he's through 13.

WHOOPS ... double on #5

3 over through 15.  T 111, but hell, that's still pretty strong!

He surprised me. That was a good showing.

Yup.  He bogeyed the last hole to shoot a 74.  That pretty much exceeded everybody's expectations.  Well done.
