I have only 2 players playing this weekend on my team ...

Just looking at the GC Fantasy Golf player values this week, and they still have Tiger as a bargain pick.
Tiger is the same value as Willett, Sharma, Woosnam, Mize, Weir, Sandy Lyle, O'Meara and Couples, it's almost like you can't afford to not pick TW.

I couldn't have you over last weekend, sorry.  My teenager and her friends invaded the man cave.

I'm not sure how I feel about you taking my spot at the basement, @Club Rat, aside from the odd weeks where I've placed well I've had a very solid relationship with DFL.  So much so, I've been thinking about buying it a ring.

The way he has started, having Phil make the cut may actually cost me points over the weekend

It was a great Fantasy Shoot Out this week with the small field playing.
At one point in time Sunday, only 10 points separated the top 8 positions.
Three teams had 5 of the same players and almost everyone had all players make the cut which keeps the scores closer.
Fun week, 5 teams over 400 points which is rare and a One Point victory.

On to next week, don't forget to set rosters everyone.
Or league only had 12 teams last week with a couple of regulars not in.

Interesting tournament winner, I was somewhat surprised that about 40 people picked the winner in TGC one & done contest.
I was barely aware of Kodaira, and looking at his recent performances (T54 WGC Mexico, MC API, T59 WGC Match play, T28 Masters) there was nothing that would have indicated a break through.

Oh well - on to Texas and the Valero Open

Hi all,

I just found this site, and naturally first post that caught my eye is fantasy golf.  Hopefully you're ok with a newbie joining the contest, I was able to easily join the group for this week.

I love golf (obviously, i expect thats why most people are here), but also love following the PGA week in and out, and love participating in the fantasy aspect of it, but it doesn't have anywhere near the fantasy presence of other sports and its always been hard for me to find a true season long fantasy golf league that people would be interested in for the entire season.

Welcome aboard Friz. I'll add you to the stats spreadsheet this week.
Our league is a recreational event which many of us have participated in for several years.
While the PGA year long season is many weeks, we have three 10 week segments for score totals.
My spreadsheet is similar to the Yahoo format we used for the past seasons.

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
