Day 69.  Despite working from home, it took me until a little after 9 to find the time to hit a dozen balls in the practice room, but I did find that time.

Day 128

A bit limited due to a cut on a finger which happened while I was making a home-brew beer. (My second hobby). Will be fine but until it gets a little better, tough to grip both a club or mug.

Worked a for 20 minutes with a ball on motions of the swing to focus on both extension and shoulders

Day 320

More, early morning range work on my irons club face impact position.

Focus is on having my hands stay ahead of the club face a little longer in my swing.

Not really caring where the ball is going at this point. However,  most shots are allowing quite playable next shots if I were on a course. Distance is what it is with these range balls.

Any mishits are pushes to the left. Once I get this lag issue hammered out, the pushes will be an easy fix. That is if I don'r naturally correct it during this swing tune up.

DAY 358     Lots going on today, so I have just finished spending 10 minutes working with my Impact Ball and short club on my takeaway, I have a tendency for the left wrist to roll versus cock up on the backswing.  A small thing but am committed to get this fixed before my lesson next Friday.

Day 321

Just some swing exercise reps this morning. 15 reps of 15 swings. Also some torso turning exercises as a warm up to the  exercise swings. Nothing real major.

Focus might have been on watching the club head's "blurring movement" on the proper club head path into a simulated impact, with the imaginary ball. Then on to a full follow through.

Today is our final travel day to get home. (100 miles)  I will be on my home course tomorrow. Maybe even this evening depending on the weather.

DAY 359    Rise and Grind!!  Beautiful 81 degrees and a little overcast.   Got in a little more than 3 hours on the range, focusing on my left wrist/forearm....it tends to roll a little in the backswing and I take it back a little inside. So I have to do a little re-routing before impact.  Working to eliminate the roll... which results in a more upright/on plane backswing.  Using 4 different drills to ingrain the new motor pattern.  LOTS of reps with 9 iron, 7 iron and 5 iron.  Then hit about 10 drivers  REALLY solid.  Also did my speed drills with my JetStick.  Good morning....

Day 129:

Limited my swings to 5i, 6i, 50º, 56º, and 60º wedge. Finally had the 5i redone to Senior Shaft.  It took about 15 or so shots to get used to the difference.

After that, I was concentrating on being physically and mentally set to eliminate both topping and swinging through the shot.  75-85% happy with the results and after a stinker of a shot I was able to adjust.

Nice day in mid-60's with lots of sunshine.

Day 71.  Ten minutes of 8-iron full swings tonight.  Amazing how the better I set up, the better I hit it.  Not a direct cause and effect (of course), just that my priority piece involves set up.

Day 322

Back at my familiar practice area. Feels good.

This morning was just some chip & putt practice.  Focus was on green reads, and getting that ball in that pesky little hole, in 3 strokes or less. Spent about 30-45 minutes doing this.

Same routine. After warming up (little chilly & breezy this am) l would chip one ball from 5'+/- off the green. This from various locations off the green, to various pin locations on the green. Once the ball was on the green, it was 2 putts, or less to hole out. I had no three putts.

DAY 360    Spent an hour this morning going through the TPI screen and a couple of others to determine what limitations I have that are impacting swing and/or making it difficult to swing properly.  The idea is that your physical limitations impact your swing and result in swing problems.  The screen was very helpful in pointing out areas I was strong and others that needed lots of improvement.  I start on the fitness improvement plan next Monday... Then went to the range to spend a couple of hours working through drills to help me reduce/eliminate my tendency to roll my left wrist on my takeaway.
