Day 26 - got opportunity to play today at the 2nd closest course to my home, regular course was closed due to frozen greens.  Course was relatively empty, so it was easy to work on footwork, specifically setup on pitches and chips.  Continued working on foot spacing.  Found that by taking a moment and locking in on where my feet are, things flowed. Not fat shots, very controlled distances, no soaring blades.  Wound up shooting my beat round there to date by 7 strokes, that could have been easily 14 fewer!

DAY 59  January 31   Went to the course... and begin by spending 15 minutes using the Pelz Putting Tutor to train and get feedback on starting the ball on line... I was satisfied with the results.

Then headed over to the range to work through several drills.... in short it was a disaster!!!  It was soooo frustrating.  Something was wrong and I could just not figure it out.  Finally I decided that my tempo was not consistent and I was swinging way to slow and carefully.  This happens for me when I spend several days on drills.  So I turned on my Tour Tempo app, and set it to play the 27/9 tempo.  I decided I would use my driver... at first it seemed a little fast, only because I had been too slow from all the drills. Then my tempo kicked in and I smashed a lot of drives in a row!!  Then I hit 20 balls with my 7 iron, and again I hit them cleanly, straight and long.   So while it started poorly it ended well... lesson learned.   Work on your tempo more often!!!!

Day 1 - After a rather lengthy and particularly unproductive swinging session on Saturday, I must have subconsciously put it out of my mind so deep that I forgot to post about it here to break my streak.  And yesterday, between digging myself out of the snow all day, and the freedom of not being bogged down by a streak, I took the day off.

Today, I tried to focus on drills and confirmation rather than swinging blindly into a net for way too long.  I did just that.  Spent some time watching golf Sunday, and watching how the back of their left hands traveled through the backswing.  Really tried to notice how quickly the back of their hand got to be parallel to the plane.  Today, I did some drills to try and drive that home.  Get my forearms to turn my hands over and swing my arms around my spine with the back of the hand defining that plane.  Felt pretty good and effortless.  Will try to do these drills all week and see where that gets me.

Day 28 - quiet day of putting work.  Did this one in sock feet - focusing on foot pressure.  As the left foot is toeless, I have a tendency to overload the right when standing.  In socks on the hardwood floor allows me to focus on balanced pressure through the tic-toc of the swing.  Likewise, much work on keeping the head still - could not hear the clunk of a ball in the cup as it was with foam balls....good workout on learning to be quiet and trusting the stroke.

DAY 60  February 1    Monday's are my days off from going to the range.... thank goodness it was 59 degrees out and 20 mph winds, who wants to spend hours in that!!  So I went into the garage and worked with my backside slight off the wall and did swings with a shortened PVC pipe.  This provides feedback on my working my hips properly on the downswing versus thrusting toward the ball, and also that I need to move my arms down under my chest.  Great drill!!

Tomorrow is cold also... so probably back to the garage!! LOL!!

Day 414:

Warmed up a bit working on priority piece with 7-iron before doing a superspeed workout. Not a great superspeed session. Also need to find a drill of some sort to work on getting sternum more over the ball instead of hanging back, as the current feels aren't doing it for me.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
