Congrats! Your achievement may never be broken. How do you feel this work has helped you the most?

Especially the last few months, mostly just actually doing something specific and getting one little thing better so the swing as a whole is better. Mostly just doing something small everyday, helps more than an hour or two on a Thursday.

DAY 131   Spent five hours (yes 5 hours) working mostly on one drill.   The Step Drill.  I have GOT to do a better job of getting to my left side on my downswing, as well as starting the downswing with my lower body.   So I am determined I will ONLY do drills that facilitate this for at least the next week.. and see how it goes.   I can assure you, it was boring, ... but necessary.   Now for dinner.

SHOUT OUT to Onthehunt526 for completing a year!!!  I am only 234 days away... gaining on you slowly but surely.  Ha Ha!!

Day 90

Bought a bucket of balls and hit driver, and 5w for the most part. I hit all my metal woods today

Focus was on keeping balls in my made up driving range fairway. Didn't pay any attention to distance since they were range balls. A good swing tempo kept most balls in play.

Went with my 10.5 driver since it is one of the least used clubs in my bag. Just staying use to it. With the larger head, it is easy for me to lose my comfort zone if not used on a regular basis.

5w is my least popular club in my bag. It's also the lowest confidence club in my bag. Lack of use, and for what ever reason, I just don't swing it well consistently.

Tried a 12.0 driver I have off the deck. The few good hits I had with it were promising. Had to aim a little more left to allow for a low fade ball flight. Hit some off the tee too.

As always, my 3&7 woods we're on the money for me.

It was a good practice session for me. Not only did most the balls fly well, I was also able to miss those youngster down range looking for Easter eggs.

April Fool's . Have a great holiday everyone.

OK, looking forward to a few games coming up so I find I do a lot better when I practice, and I practice more consistently when I report here. So for April 1 I walked 9holes with my focus being hitting the greens in regulation. That I got to drive and putt was icing on the cake.

Day five: A real mix of stuff. Spent the morning at the course, but with a real focus on just practising - had an hour on the short game area, working on removing excess wrist hinge with my wedges, which is causing me to need to flip too much at impact. Also worked on landing spots with different trajectories. Then went out to the course and played tee shots on five holes, before heading to set yardages: 100 yards, 75 yards, 50 yards and 85 yards and hitting four wedges to each green. After that, I played up and down games with two balls off of each green. Finished up with an hour of putting work - 30 minutes on stroke and tempo work with the Visio template and 15 minutes on lag putting drills.

A decent day!

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

Day 367:

Back to my A4 to A5 drills this morning. Mostly making sure I'm coming down with my right elbow close to my body. I'm hoping the weather turns around at the tail end of this week or at least my Wednesday through Friday next week, so I can take these motions, I've been practicing to the golf course.

Day 91

"Heavy Putter"  practice today. Still getting use to the feel of using a new putter, after retiring my several decade old,  Zone 1 putter. Just getting my body use to the new tool.

I'm getting my strokes locked in for my 5', 10', and 20' putts.  I'm one of those who thinks distance control is of major importance in putting. I rank it higher than reading greens.

    • Day 262 5-12 Got an early practice session in this morning. Arms off body was the main focus with getting chest through with speed, I did much better with wrist arching through the downswing.
    • Yea, developing a proper shot zone for that approach should would be helpful. If you are bringing OB into play more than you like, then it is either needs to be an accepted reward for the risk. If you hit 10 shots from that tee ball landing area. If like 1 ball goes OB, that could be outlier shots you need to discard. If more than that is creeping in, then it is probably not the correct shot.  Maybe it needs to be more nuanced. Maybe you hit more shots OB from the left side of the hole than right due to shot shape. If you hit it left to right, maybe being on the left side makes you aim further right, bringing in OB right. It could be an aiming issue.
    • Thank you, @saevel25.  First two points, definitely, and those are things I can do.  PGA Tour average being 3.0 from 100 yards in the rough (or 160 in the fairway, per ESC) is a great reminder that a 5 is a really good score on a par-5 and the occasional six isn't anything to be upset about, as long as I played it intelligently.   I'm playing in less than a week, and I checked the three par-5s against ShotScope's 5-handicap baseline.    My last par on two of them yielded a 0.23 stroke gain (each), while the last one had -0.07 on my last par (I wonder if ShotScope measures straight-line distance, because there's some slight bending going on). Hmmm, that last one, especially with between the ropes.  I think I'll go through my past rounds later today and see where I'm losing strokes there -- I would guess it's on my second shot, since that one makes me nervous because of O.B. left and right on the second shot.  Yet, I think I can hit a hybrid from my typical tee shot landing area and have a distance wedge into the green.
    • Goal 1) Keep the ball between the ropes. The ropes being where you have a full swing at the ball to advance it as far towards the green as possible. Not in trees, bunkers, hazards, long grass, OB, etc...  Goal 2) Advance the ball as far as possible towards the green with respect to your shot zone. Keep the ball in play, ideally in the fairway, but the rough is not terrible. Stay away from hazards, including bunkers. Ideally, you will in play with a short iron, distance wedge shot, pitch shot, or on the green. If this is the case, then think of it as having a par 3 that is the distance left on the par 5. If you are hitting a full swing short iron, then that is going to be difficult to get par than bogey. PGA Tour is 3.0 from the rough from 100 yards. This might be where fairway matters the most.  PGA Tour rough is tougher than what we usually play. If you get can this close to 50/50 for par/bogey than you will most likely end up more pars than bogies on par 5's. You would probably be better than 50/50 if you end up closer to the hole. This is where the advice would be, aim at the center of the green with full swing shots into par 5's.
