April 6 Day 6

indoor putting practice by putting across the living and trying to pick a spot for the ball to stop. Focused on good contact and pulling the club back cleanly and consistently without swaying in or out. ( noticed I did that a few times in the past)

Aloha,

Day 97. Still nursing a sore shoulder. Out early to beat the heat the weather guy says is moving in.

Went to my local short game course for some chipping/putting practice.

As always, the focus was reading greens, and holing out in two or less strokes, using only one ball. Distance was also worked on. To me, having good distance control is required to putt as well as one can. Probably the most important aspect of the putting game.

I am working on a little tid bit I found to help with distance control by Geoff Mangrum, and his You Tube segments. Once I truly get it dialed in, I will share it.

I have become use to the "Heavy Putter" I recently put into play. Still a ways to go, but the comfort, and confidence is there.

Day ten: Range session working on the usual pieces - core connection and swing path. It's getting there, but still have to really commit to hit a draw! Also spent a bit of time with the wedges around the practice green, working on high, mid and low flights. I can vary it relatively nicely, but the two real extremes are fraught with quite a bit of peril for me!

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

Day 4:

near bare minimum here. 7 minutes of “mirror work”. Getting to full backswing position and practiced leading the downswing with the right elbow. The feel to accomplish this is the same I have been working on this week with the right elbow chasing the belly button.

April 7 has arrived and I woke up and ran a 10k race.

Day 7 too tired to play 9 I practiced my swing outside with 6I and 3W. Starting out with the 9 to 3 Drill focus on keeping left arm straight, then took some full swings and went back and forth. Then came inside and focused on my putting back swing.

Hope to play tomorrow, aloha, iSank

Day 98.

6 of us met at a local practice green for a putting contest. While there, two unknowns joined in with us making it 8.

Each of us putted to 18 pins. We each paid $5 to enter. There were no prizes. The $40 went into the 19th hole for a down payment on food, and beverages.

I finished 3rd with a 38.

Day 11: Played 18, had a bit of range time beforehand and some pitching work after. Lots of positives, but lots to work on, surprisingly with the driver, which has been great for a long time, but I kept losing it right after some good work recently. Will sort it tomorrow.

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

DAY 139  Spent 2 hours on the practice range working on my downswing sequence (specifically getting on to my left side earlier, and external rotation of my right arm), using drills from my GGGA Workbook.  Lunch, then hit 50 shots out of a fairway bunker working on impact (hitting ball first and then the sand).   Then played 18 holes.  Shot 73 (which is one over par), finished with a tap in birdie from 1 foot on 17 and an eagle on 18 (sunk a wedge shot from 78 yards).   Sometimes #hardworkpaysoff

April 8 Day 8

went to the range, practiced clearing my waist by keeping my left foot at 45 degrees, it felt good, and contact was good. Worked a few shots with each club. Then hit the putting green for a bit of focus on the ball going where I’m aiming.

    • Day 430 - 2025-12-04 Slow motion backswings (with chippy shots) with AlmostGolf balls.
    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
